Went out today for a quick ride and quickly found that the re surfacing gnomes have been hard at workConfused

Just about all the good riding roads locally have had a visit from the "quick spray of tar then tip on a ton of loose chippings and leave them to it " merchants in the last week or so,it is so wide spread that they must have had the crews working full overtime as I've never seen such widespread mayhem in such a short time frame.

Most of the roads I took the guys round recently are now 20mph no ride zones, including a good percentage of the Denbigh Moors road, although we didn't do the Brennig leg they've ruined most of the full run down into Pentrefoelas.

I believe the B road from Betwse to Llanwrst has been treated as well although I didn't personally check.

There was also a heavy Police presence according to riders we were talking to at Betwse although we only saw one camera van but apparently they were targeting biking roads looking to catch "the nutters".

We were told about 4 seperate units plus an unmarked Audi in the Ponderosa general area which I can't confirm.

It would seem that the treatment of certain roads (which were NOT in need of any maintenance) is forcing riders onto the more mainstream roads straight down the throats of waiting Plod.

Certainly looks like part of an organised traffic policy to me.

Think I may leave riding for a couple of weeks till the cars have cleared the roads again.Angry

I know what you mean, the same thing happened to lots of the biking roads around Essex last year but now that all the roads have bedded in, its perfect now and the surface was much better than before.....

I guess it's just one of things that you have to put up with I suppose, it will be much better next year

Mind you, we have no where near as much plod down here as you guts have up there!!!
