Working on fitting a RSV 1000 Gen 1 engine into a non Aprilia frame, not got the exhaust yet but a trial fit of the engine into the frame shows the std OEM exhaust downpipes and manifold under the engine should fit, but what material are these made from if they need welding eg mild steel or stainless in case I need to modify them or get them coated.

They're stainless steel, no idea what grade but at the rate they go off colour I'm guessing not the highest. The stainless Akrapovic system on my CB1300 stays shiny for a lot longer and only discolours slightly after a long time.
I got mine satin black ceramic coated...recommended.

Thanks, the 2nd ones look very brown so coating would be second task after the mods including the link mod in the manifold.

I use 304 stainless for the additional pipes in my modded collectors
