Hi everyone,
I'm a long time lurker on here so I thought I'd give give something to the forum before asking for any help, so I've attached a large format (A1) wiring diagram which I've redrawn. It's best printed at A3 or above but it's still readable at A4 size. Hopefully this helps someone as it's almost impossible to find a readable one. I think dropbox reduces it's readability somewhat but here's the link; Now on to my electrical issues; I own a 2004 RSVR with very low mileage which I've been trying to get started for the last few months after it's spent a few years off the road. The current issue is it is unresponsive when I connect a battery now, no dash activity, no pump priming etc although it seems the automatic choke cycles every few seconds as soon as the battery is connected, with or without the key. My suspicion is that I have an immobiliser problem but I'd really like to confirm this before I start bypassing it. My previous unresolved issue was the engine would turn over but not fire. I was getting a spark but no fuel through to the injectors. Here is a list of everything I've done so far;
Any insights you can give me would be appreciated as I'd love to fix this myself and avoid a 300 mile round trip to the specialists! Thanks, RT |

Might sound silly but have you checked the tip over switch is not fitted upside down
(don't ask how I know that causes similar issues! )

The immobiliser effectively just operates the kill switch circuit to kill the engine. Unless it has burnt out big time and cause a short it shouldn’t pull the power down. Just unplug it to be sure as although it won’t start the dash etc should still work.
The main power feed goes through the 2 30 amp fuses under the seat, check them for corrosion as well as being blown
