Can anyone give advice on making a 2002 Mille R more Comfortable by fitting Higher Clip Ons. Have looked at the Gilles Variables but are very expensive at nearly 300. The Forks on mine are 25mm above Yolks, could original bars be clamped above Yolks

Westy, I have fitted a pair of Heli bars to my non R version (1.75 inches higher and 1 inch wider). They use all original cables etc and took me about 3 hours to fit. In the UK they were about 250, I got someone to pick them up in the US and they worked out at $250. I can ride for circa 350 mile a day no problem now and they survived me throwing it down the road. Tone. www.helibars.com I considered others: www.cyclecat.com (too expensive $515) www.twobros.com www.cliponrisers.com/ (didn't like the way these fitted) www.convertibars.com

westy Yes hhe original clip ons can be placed above the yokes. with the following free mods: you will need to raise the fairing a little by placing some sort of packing between the mirror mounts and the fairing. this should give clearance so your bars/knuckles dont hit the fairing. a little careful rerouting of the throttle cable, choke cable and clutch pipe to get around any clearance issues if you need any more info let me know and ill take piccies
