The Holy Grail you seek LOL

The least vibration I found was mounted on the tank with a three sucker mount but it's not high enough to see much over the dash, adding an extension would probably introduce Jello

I got my best footage of the road only by using a Ram Mount on the lower fork leg but unless you use a separate mic that's not ideal and all you see is the road and it gets a bit boring.

The pro's that work with No Limits use Drift Ghosts stuck on the side of fairings and that works well but the best footage I've seen quality wise was one of my mates who has his Drift mounted on his helmet.

Anything head or body mounted should be a sharper quality as the body especially the head is an excellent shock absorber. I wouldn't personally helmet mount but that's just me,it didn't do Michael Shumacher much good either but then most vloggers take that route.

I have been thinking about a chest/shoulder mount for my cam next though

Not totally sure but in the dark recesses there is something about
body mounted cams can be taken by plod for evidence against you .. but
bike mounted can not … like I say .. may be mince but check it out
if you are not the messiah .. just a very naughty boy
If you find us in a hedge check the bike first please .. I`m free on the NHS...

My best footage location wise came from taping my camera to the tank filler cap. It captures the movement and sound of the bike quite well from there. Only negatives are your speed is visible (if your being naughty) and it picks up loads of induction noise although that does sound nice.
I was meant to be filming the guys I was with but one backed off after the first few bends and the other panic braked and didn't like my resulting close proximity so waved me past. They are both Police and have both done the Police run courses at Castle Coombe so obviously weren't paying attention in class as we weren't pushing it at all. Shocked

Done with a cheap sh*tty camera years ago with crap frame rate but it shows the perspective. I've since got a decent camera but more often than not I can't be arsed to set it up and use it. It picks up from after the first guy backs off.

That was a bit close for comfort wasn't it LOL

You could see the jello effect though due to the vibrations feeding into it.

My T has a GoPro sticky mount in exactly the same place on the screen and that's where I tried my camera first,it was horrendous.

The bars are supposed to be the worst possible place for a cam,I did try a Ram mount off the clutch perch but that was too vibey as well.

I do have one of these set up but not bothered sticking the camera in it yet

If I was to buy another camera I think I'd get one of the Drift type rather a GoPro or clone as the mountings are their downfall when used on bikes.

I stuck a mount on the tail unit and it's completely vibration free. Shame all you can see is my arse.

Tried sticking one next to a mirror mount on front fairing but that's very shakey. I think part of the vibration issue on front fairing is the chinese GoPro mount I'm using a converter with to attach my Sony camera. There's a bit of free play and I think it'd be better with a tight fit.

cheers for your recommendations guys.
I'm looking at recording it for a track day so not too concerned with the speedo being filmed, although it might be embarrassingly low Cry rather than incriminating. in general not too interested in filming myself out and about on the roads.

In that case, in case you don't already know, it can't be on the tank, or on any part of your person (helmet, chest etc.).

These are the 2 positions I've tried so far. With my camera the tail position facing forwards was too close really.

The front one is much better for seeing where you're going but can be wobbly.

I also tethered both with cable ties. Front went arount mirror mounting hole, tail went around the bar under the tail unit/pillion seat.

Here's a quick sample of both positions:

thanks Blacklines, i prefer the front facing. i'm guessing you can mount a camera to the yoke or above the speedo, if there is space, seen a couple like that.

Yeah, I'd go for above the speedo if your screen isn't fully opaque at the bottom like mine is. A clear screen would be ideal.
