Few of you might have noticed me grousing about not being able to flog my GSXR 1000 for the past year.
Well, a chance meeting with a fellow biker lead to a swap deal. So I am now the proud owner of this ...

Only done about 30 miles on it so far but lovin' it.
Only things that need changing urgently are the 'nick me' silver on black 'classic' plate and the crappy aftermarket mirrors, as well as gearchange rubber (on order).
Couple more pics:

I know a few on here have had one of these so any tips welcome.

Plate actually looks really good Stu but don't think the local law will agree!

A mate of mine has one of those, he loves it.  Yet to have a go myself.  Think they need a good revalve on the front/rear suspenders and a decent free flowing zorst.

It's got the Triumph aftermarket high level pipe on it and it's certainly, ahem, free-flowing!
Sussies are surprisingly hard so will look into popular cures.
Goes well in a 'wall of torque' kinda way - more like the Mille than the GSXR, which is good.

tips, make sure you don't try starting it with a semi flat battery as it'll do the same thing millie's do (sprags will go it you're not careful), is it a true speed trip or a converted daytona? if daytona checkthe engine number as the early bikes had a habit of lunching their 4th gear (speed trips didn't have the probs I don't believe), can have earthing issue's but generally bullit proof bikes if you don't treat it like sh*t. Get yourself a copy of tuneECU and an ODBII cable ad you'll feel like Vale's electronics man Thumbs Up

-------------------------

edit, ok scrap the question about daytona conversion it's a speedtrip Thumbs Up

-------------------------

edit, forgot to say, get over onto triumphtorque theres loads of info on there

It was a toss up for me between the rsvr and one of those, the rsvr won. I read lots of sprag clutch horror stories... very expensive to sort out.
I reckon the bike and that plate look ace.
