Nice one Mark
Yeah Marks spot on, I did some googling and then had a ago myself so far so good. As long as you don't over heat the magnet to the point they lose all the magnetic field your fine

Hi all, I've seen AP workshops above reckon an oe stator from a Tuono 09 onwards might solve the melting brown connector/wiring overheat! anyone done this or an alternative?
thanks

I did it
09 onwards stator, flywheel and a new reg/rec

It’s the flywheel that’s the issue

Will cost you around £1500 for parts with gaskets etc.

Unless you can find an 09 one being broken, I’d go for the oven baked flywheel exchange and a new stator from someone.

Wasting time on a re wound version as most seem to fail pretty quickly. That being said with a less magnetic flywheel you may be sorted. Gen1 stators can fit and I don’t know why the Gen1 flywheel doesn’t. Someone will know that answer

Hi All
Not long had an rsv1000r factory and almost immediately the stator has gone.
New to these bikes it seems I have two options: the later flywheel and stator at a large cost or something like the west coast stator and series regulator.
From everything I’ve found so far only the later flywheel option seems to last.
Lots of the posts seem quite old so just wondering how the cheaper options have faired and any thoughts you all have to help me make a decision
Thanks in advance

Hi

I have had success with West Coast windings but many years ago before the option of de magnatisieing the the fly wheel this is by far the best option now it seems but I have not done it myself. There's a very recent thread covering it.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left
