What are the advantages / disadvantages of fitting a shorter handlebar to my 2007 Tuono

I have a handlebar which is about 10cm shorter overall than standard

Strange question i know, but as my bike lives in my house, it can sometimes be a bit tight getting it out of the door  LOL

Not really a strange question, bars are a commonly change item.
Heavier steering?
Less sensitive steering?
Change in ergonomics, i.e. Hand position/shoulder rotation?

Also of course, they will be the cause of your house insurance being voided as with the standard bars the bike wouldn't be in your house! Wink

It seems quite a few change the bars on our Tuono's ,I'm going to do it for several reasons:

a)  The standard ones leave me to upright,I prefer leaning forward more

b)  I want something narrower but wider and higher than clipon's

c) I want more weight over the front as I can't get used to the vague steering compared to my sorted Mille

Then you get to the issue of what bars to choose,at around £85 a throw it's an expensive guessing game if you get it wrong,I'm currently thinking Rizoma MA011 but with the controls moved inboard as much as poss with any excess used to mount bar end mirrors

Also both Rizoma and to a greater extent Renthal supplies are drying up fast and lots of kit is going on back order as the parent factories presumably go on short time due to bat flu

I got a spare set of fat bars from a speed triple i used to own, so might give them a go

Good idea, perhaps you could do a comparison with OE?

I have a feeling they may actually be from either Renthal or Rizoma and supplied to Triumph as OE
