Hi all
My 04 gen2 rsvr's lap/flash switch has stopped working. Everything else on the dash works as it should do.
Looking at the wiring diagram I have it shows the switch running to a diode before going to the relay where it activates the coil to switch the relay. My question is where the fcuk is this diode.
Many thanks for your replies in advance.

Hi

Is it the white odd looking plug thing under the left cover by the left fork leg?
May need to remove left side panel also so you can see the immobiliser as it’s right by it

Of note check the connections on the switch. Do the headlamps still flash on the switch ?

Yep everything works fine just no flash. I have split the switch housing but can't get to the switch. Does the inner piece that wraps around the handlebar come out.

It does but you need to press about four tabs at once to do it.

I had this before on a total wreck of a Gen2 and replaced the assembly to sort it. I’d recommend checking the loom where it passes under the air intake. It has a locating tab that hold the loom up and vibration wears through the insulation and the wires

Adam badapple may have an assembly

Ok. Ignore everything I have posted.
It's the switch, shorting out the two solder joints makes it work, now comes the bodge fix.
Thanks all.
