I still have an urge to mod the MPL piston to take a thrust bearing though as I think that could be the best of all possible outcomes.

Major friction reducer with the other benefit of much lower fluid operating temps and potentially keeping the fluid clear for much longer as well as much reduced effort and better looks.

The evoluzione clutch slaves have a bearing in and it does keep the fluid clear.

So I believe,I think they were designed for Ducati originally and they jammed a bearing into them to make them usable on the Aprilia.

Good idea though

Had one on mine for about 15 years and the fluid has never gone black, I’ve changed the fluid but only because of fitting new master cylinder.

I would imagine the friction and subsequent heat build up would be almost entirely gone with a thrust bearing.

The idea is so obvious I don't know why all slaves aren't fitted with a bearing, they only cost a few £

My k7 gixxer has hydraulic clutch and that goes black as well but I haven’t seen anyone doing an evoluzione type slave for years now, might be worth talking to Oberon.

Ken still pops up on Af1 every now and then. His slave wasn’t without issues though. A few had a sticking problem where the piston would skew and not release so you had to pop the slave off and push it.  As reliable as all the others though generally.

I think a very messy divorce was the undoing of the business.
