So today's the day and my 04 Tuono has arrived and it looks fantastic.
They took it off the truck and it wouldn't start they swapped the battery for one they had on the truck and it wouldn't start.
You can hear the fuel pump prime and solenoid clicking but no trace of the engine even trying to start.
I've had a look around the forum and I'm narrowing it down to needing a better battery and/or and upgraded solenoid.

It's quite annoying not being able to ride my new toy and I will be passing the cost back to the dealer but for now I just want to get it on the road.
Help please........

Personally I wouldn’t be touching it, i would of sent it back and told the dealer to sort it.

It's probably flooded now. Try again tomorrow, use the fast idle lever fully on (it looks like a choke lever) and give the starter a prod. If it doesn't start within a couple of turns of the engine stop, try again with a bit of throttle. Last resort wide open throttle and be prepared to close it as soon as it fires up. NEVER keep cranking the engine over, it'll destroy the sprag clutch.

I went out today and bought the updated battery but the result is the same a clicking from I think the starter solenoid and what sounds like the pump.

No starring though.

I am in talks with the dealer about what their going to do but I'm soooooo impatient

Am I doing something wrong

The new battery didn't start it so I would agree, back to the dealers. I'm guessing it could be a corroded earth cable or knackered starter solenoid, original was 50amp but a 150amp one is the recommended replacement. It's the dealers problem now though.

Have you tried some new fuel if it's been stood a while?

Got the dealer to pay for new uprated battery, starter solenoid and cables...... that should do the trick.

I've already grown attached to the bike so im reluctant to send it back

The heavy duty starter and battery cables, that's what made the biggest difference to mine. Night and day. No more worrying about if it will start.
Question everything.
