Hi Rick, you got the proper beast, they reckon the new one lacks soul and character. When I had a go on my brother's 2011 Tuono, I liked it, but that Ducati is the one I would have bought the S model. To me it looks better than that Tuono.
Nice bike and they are quite rare, the S models are.
I am glad it's a bike that you can enjoy riding on, also that doesn't require do much upkeep.
We will have to arrange a little meet get a few of us together in the new year.
Enjoy that bike, hopefully there's still a few sunny warm day to come šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

They were the only thing I've compromised slightly on James.

I wanted some CRG Lanesplitters, but they were out of stock, so fitted these generic ones off Ebay for now. Solid as a rock and you can mount the mirrors in another position instead of out of the ends, you can have them mounted amidships on the "bar end slider" bit.
They were just under 20 quid on Ebay. The reflection is a bit smaller though, which I'm not so keen on, so reckon I will still get the CRG's at some point.

I'll try and find a link Wink

Thanks Rick

Iā€™m weighing up between some CRG arrow mirrors on some Rhinomoto bar end weights or go with round 60mm oberan ones that come with a fitted bar end to mount to the existing bars weight all in one

Hi Matt! Big smile

Hope you're well mate, yes we're in the same boat with our backs, I have another disc bulging as well now and hope that's not going to go the same. Constant sciatica, but with chronic flare ups that last weeks, sometimes months. Getting the balance right, of doing stuff, but trying to pace yourself, so as to not make it angry! Like trying to appease some ancient God! The worst enemy is myself, because my mind tells me to try to push on, when my body says not. I have to take meds to just get out of bed and get moving, though also for my leg injuries. BTW loving the Bandit you got buddy Wink

Hi Rich my friend, thanks for the kind words and hope you're well buddy, I know you've got problems with your back now as well. I'll give you a bell and catch up.

I'm sad that the weather has turned on us now - but I managed to get a lot of riding in this summer despite all the restrictions we've had, so that's been great. The Duc fits me and my injuries really well and glad I pulled the pin and bought it. Absolutely no regrets, love the way it goes, stops, sounds and looks... and oops it seems to have become a keeper LOL

Cheers Coop me ol mate, I rode more this summer than the last 3 years put together!

It has really helped my state of mind after Mum died and I know she would have loved it like she did the Ape, simply because it makes me happy. Thumbs Up

Hi James, did you get sorted with the mirrors? Sorry I never replied, forgotten I'd turned off notifications to all social media and just seen these comments lol.
Those CRG Arrows are nice as well! Quite like the round style for the Duc, but those would probably look great on the T.
I'm currently lusting after some LSL carbon superbike bars Embarrassed

Hi Rick, Nice to hear from you. This back problem is quite serious and I need a MRI desperately.
I haven't ridden a bike for a year now, hopefully I'll get the MRI that I need and there's a solution to the problem.
I keep plugging away at the R1 and I may have to buy a fork mounted thumb brake and will be selling the PFM clipon mounted type, I can't get it to clear the switch gear, well I can but it is not ideal. My plan is to finish both bikes and ride them as much as I can so a lot depends on me getting some treatment for this injury. If I mange to get sorted I will never let myself get weak again, but I all the time I was training and cycling on my carbon mountain bike I was OK. I only realise now how a strong core can protect you from injury. My job always kept me so strong that I only suffered a back problem maybe twice in my life before this injury, even last year when I fell off on the gravel at Almeria the first day, I picked the bike up and even though I hurt my back I recovered completely when I got home.
Three bikes I love riding so much, and not being able to do so is hard to take.
I am glad you got some good riding in this year, I hope to do the same next year.
Give us a bell anytime Rick, it will great to catch up mate šŸ‘

Really sorry to hear about your back Rich Ouch

I just hope they can get your MRI done pronto and you can get on the road to recovery sooner rather than later. Bit of a problem in these times of covid, with everything getting delayed in hospitals and the backlog building up. Stay positive mate, hopefully it can be sorted. I agree about the strong core being a great help, I have to do everything with such moderation though, like walking on eggshells, trying not to upset the back. Maybe you did more damage to your back than you realised in Almeria? All my problems are down to the accident I had years ago fracturing vertebrae and coming back to haunt me years later.

Hope you've not got too much pain. Will call you tomorrow Rich Big smile

Recovery going well thanks Rick, unfortunately not making any noise, although I did come by a set of nice Mivv's for whenever it gets put back together.

The castle up the road has enough problems to be getting on with without noise pollution,we just heard they've had their sets flooded due to the volume of rain we've been having.

Bet they wish for the hot Australian jungle LOL

Thanks lads, sorry didn't get to log on yesterday. I'm loving it tbh. It's so slim and as naked as it gets.

It's very light at 167 dry and has none of the top heavy effects of the RSV. That's not a critisism of the latter, one of the reasons I love it, but easier to live with, in a lid on and go no worries sense.

Blinged it up a bit, but I've stuck to genuine Ducati Performance (hard to find) and Ilmberger carbon -who I think made the Aprilia Nera cf tanks.

Also added some ASV levers, that were on my gen1 with gen 2 radial masters, before going to Brembo RCS masters on that. Also a lovely TWM fuel cap and cf surround. A fair few bits replacing any plastic with carbon and other titanium bolts etc.

I think Full Six also made some genuine Ducati carbon -and I'd like to get a seat to go with the DP carbon cowl I fitted and underseat cf and side panels. So that's a possibility. The duc performance one is nearly 1K if you can find one. I kid you not.

Thanks Mark, Aled, Ian, Adam and Warren Thumbs Up

Love this forum. Always been the friendliest and the best.
