Hmm,well that rod is well out of alignment and will be pushing hard against the rear wall rather than along the axis.

The inner hole would make it worse

Just one of the poor design features

Yes, it is slightly out of alignment but with my RSV4 master I fitted the matching rod (See15 below) which has a ball end (!) and does help with the alignment.

I suspect the inner hole is just for lightening, you would never use it for the rose joint. Unless you wanted to increase the pedal resistance of course but the misalignment may then course problems.

Mine probably is as well,I only fitted the rear sets the night before shipping the bike to Spain, used it for 3 days and it's been covered up on stands for the last 3 years since.

Complete waste really, but what the hell,it doesn't owe me anything

Yeah they're not the best but I don't have a problem with it a little out of alignment. Still works well enough to skid and it doesn't drag. Haven't had any split seals yet either, despite not filing off the cut end of the stud. Touch wood.

You have to host it somewhere else. Try https://cubeupload.com/
Once uploaded it will give you a URL link to the picture.

Then click the big "Post Reply" button on the left, rather than using the little box at the very bottom. Click the picture of the tree and paste the URL in there. You might want to set the size to 800x600 (landscape) or 600X800 (portrait) too.

DOT 4 is not silicon based so that will be fine and it can be mixed with DOT 3 and DOT 5.1 if necessary.

In ref to the seals going I am aware of one person it happened to! The bike is now a write off and it was weeping from the base as you described.

Has AP sets on also. So could well be the alignment issue. Of interest what is the rear resevoir? The OEM one or HRC tube?
