If your bike is equipped with a Power Commander, there is a feature for TPS reset.
Typically TPS issues do not manifest itself as starting problems, though.

long story short, due to an insurance cock up she hasn’t been ridden for a year. This year I changed the plugs, cleaned the filter etc. Plugged the dealer thing together and it comes up with diag 1, TPS apparently. Adjusted it to 0, started her up, runs fine, try to start her the next day, just turns over, won’t start, back to diag 1. Getting on my tits now!!

Not convinced that is your problem
It's quite rare for a TPS to read 0 for long to be honest. It's an internet red herring. THe tps position reading is not a fault code for the tps it's just for servicing information. |

Also not sure how you are adjusting it.
You need to wind the idle adjusting knob all the way out before connecting the diag wires. This seats the throttle butterfly closed before you obtain a throttle TPS reading. The reading should be 0 with idle knob turned all the way out. Once you've got a 0 reading, tighten the TPS switch back up and reset idle to 1200 / 1300 rpm, not forgetting to disconnect the diag wires once complete. Once you reset the idle the tps will no longer read 0 = normal. |

Thanks, I think I’ve done that but I’ll give it another go tomorrow, if it isn’t the TPS I’ll be having fun finding out why it won’t start!
