Only a gasket if your sticking with a 500w stator.

when i did mine recently i followed someone's advice on cutting the heads off some long bolts and screwed them into the casing then popped the gasket over the bolts to hold ir all in place worked a treat. So far so good.after the re-wind

Hi folks, the Gen2 generator problems have been much discussed, and I hoped I'd seen the last of it when I had a re-wind in 2016. But it is seeming like it's failed again, so my question is, has anybody found a good long-term fix (my apologies if I've missed this on a thread)?

Supposedly the only fix is to fit a later stator and flywheel assembly ar a cost of around a grand! Ive recently re wound mine and am hoping it holds out. Some seem to last years others 100 miles.

I used a good quality aftermarket stator, soldered and heat-shrinked the stator cables, no brown connectors and used a "series" rec/reg (Shindengan SH847) kit, cables with plug-on connectors from RoadsterCycle. 2+ years and 10,000 miles later and working perfectly.
