I have a very persistent fault code indicating lambda sensor fault. Have checked wiring continuity to ecu. Even bought a new ngk sensor, not a generic one.
Any one had similar experience, no changes made to the gen 2 factory recently.

Is the bikes ecu in open loop mode for aftermarket pipes ? If yes it won't be doing any harm even if you remove the lambda as it's ignored, you just have the annoying error code. If it were me I would get the lambda deleted from the ecu so no errors. Premier Aprilia dealers will have the access codes to do that.

If it's not on open loop mode are you running stock cans ?

Correct me if I'm wrong,The Lamba sensor is a 4 wire, two silver pins and two brass pins. With Map 2 enabled then the ecu is looking for a complete circuit on the heating circuitry.  The signal circuit is a 13ohm resistor.

The ecu looks for a completed circuit and a varying signal regardless of the ecu setting (open or closed loop). The signal is ignored from a fueling point of view by open loop but has to be present for the diags.

In a static setting you can fool the ecu that the Lambda is present by mimicking it's circuit resistance (22 ohms stuck in my head but not sure). But if the ecu doesn't then detect a varying signal or it is out of range once the engine is running then it will throw a code.

I am not running standard exhausts, they are Beowulf, a nice compromise between sound and looks. I had these fitted for 12 months with no issues and then had crank sensor plug connection problem, fixed that then immediately after had this issue. I am using the underside of the tank as the airbox top it has a good seal and has a KN filter. I have fully checked the circuit from new ngk lambda through the plug and back to the ecu. My fluke shows the lambda voltage moving between 0.1 and 0.9 volt.
Thanks for taking time to reply much appreciated.

Rather than chase the fault as you have eliminated the obvious, why not have the lambda deleted from the ecu and then it's redundant. Can't see it taking a dealer more than 30 mins via an axone as long as they have the password for those parts of the menu.

Your not a million miles from Aprilia Performance.
