    Posted: 06 Oct 2017 at 19:04
Hi all

I'm currently keeping an eye out for an RSV gen 2 to buy. I've seen a few though that don't seem to have the Ohlins forks. The Brembo radial calipers are there but have generic looking black forks.

Did not all Gen 2 bikes get the ohlins forks?

Many thanks
Michael

Sorry, I'm getting mixed up a bit I think. I know the early Gen 2's with the Amber indicator lenses on the tail didn't have ohlins forks, but did they not have standard brake calipers too? I thought the face lift gen 2 with clear indicator lenses all had Ohlins forks??

Thanks for clearing that up.

Think my confusion arose from seeing a few bikes advertised as RSVR but with ohlins forks. They must have been factory's but not listed as such.

Many thanks

Ah so the standards DID get ohlins eventually? I've seen a few 2006 bikes with standard black forks but they're maybe just late registered.

Perhaps aprilia ordered too many ohlins forks, the downturn in 2007 meant sales figures were way down, the factory actually closed down for a few months ?

They knew that the rsv4 was coming out and the v twin ended...
