I'm watching a OE seat on ebay at present idea is to stick on some high density foam and then cover with one of those replacement seat covers, there are plenty on ebay some seem to have elasticated edging which should help accommodate the extra foam. |

I fitted a Saxon seat cover to my original seat and there's no room to get anything other than the existing seat pad under it, I can't imagine the other brands of covers would give you any more room. I brought a spare seat from the bay and mocked up a new seat pad out of celotex and then took the whole thing to Andover Upholstery and got them to make it to my specs , was £150.00 (plus the cost of the spare seat), although I saved on any postage costs as I was working in the area 2 weeks running . http://www.andoverupholstery.co.uk/contact-us.html |

What I do in this situation where I assume I'm on the slowest bike, is to swap bikes with the fastest guy, and redo the run to the burger van, if your'e still last, its not the bike, saved a fortune over the years I have doing that.

Is there a limit to how far you can go with the rearsets before your heel starts to make contact with the link pipe. I have a set of Harris rearsets where the footrest is adjustable, about a half inch, I always liked the idea of a set of AP rearsets but often wondered could I get much more adjustment on those anyway, maybe the Harris rearsets have the foot rest mounted further back nearer the link pipe. |

Thanks Adam, my main reason for all my mods is that I couldn't originally afford a V4 Tuono after riding my brother's. But the money I a spent is quite a bit and went too far with it really. But the bike is transformed and it smashed the granny out of SR1000, R1s and 1299 you have to ride it to limit and it loses out in few places, but with the Maxton and the Metezler 200 K2 tyre on the rear it can make it up, it's really setup for me and I don't believe all that BS about it not turning in with the 200/ 55 tyre, I have got the ride height set up high due to the height of tyre and M9rko 's help and changing the shock it takes corners like Mig29 probably not for the faint hearted, also the Maxton let's me have more ride height without the tank slapping. The double velocity stacks have made a vast difference, I am running 15/40 gearing with the 200 tyre so it's probably near oem, and the fueling is so sweet, easy in town, pulls from nowhere and dispesenses the 6 gears as if they were nothing. The Slipper has also made it quick, no need to worry about the back locking, just leave it late to brake, pull up a couple of gears in quick succession throw it into the corner you can almost feel it backing in sometimes but I only managed that once so far but quite enjoyable once you know it comes back in. I have spent a lot of money on it and still developing it. Will be working on my own 1103 motor hopefully next year. If you just want a bit of midrange and few extra hp it van be done quite easy and cab transform the bike, Pcv and Autotune, the stacks and couple of other little mods, I will send you a pm, and always willing to help as I have great help from the members myself to get the bike to where it is now. |

Sorry, Damo, just noticed this. Obviously there will be a limit but it hasn't been a problem for me. I guess that depends where you position them and how you ride but you can certainly get a lot more room. |

Hi Mark, it was medication time 😂 Hopefully they will sort it out soon, yes the bike going really well, overcome the handling problems, can't believe it was the front tyre pressure dropped it to 27 psi it's back to normal, you was right about the Maxton rear shock, no tank slap problems and it is so stable. It was only my fifth ride of the year but it was so enjoyable. The Slipper makes an amazing difference to corner entry, the Braketechs will be going on soon so it will enhance that even more although the Pfms are brilliant so if they are better than them will have to be careful, by the way your idea with the VHT paint and lacquer worked superbly, 7 months and no rust, so the Braketechs will be getting the same treatment. It took a long time but it was worth it for many reasons. I may look for a gen 2 spare engine or maybe just the bottom half as I have a spare set of barrels and big valve heads, my mate's friend has a flow bench so if I can get access to it I can get the head ported lot more accurately, may use the epoxy resin as you mentioned. I will probably go 1103 if those CP pistons are still available but shall do it with liners from LA Sleeve and get Micah to cut the slot for the rear conrod and machine the pistons for more clearance as he does on his motors. Tapmyhead's bike is running is going on the Dyno today I think, combination of his and few of my ideas, he running Stefano's stacks so it will be interesting. He told me that the narrow band sensor the oem one still has a affect on map 2 up to 10% of the throttle, something I didn't know, so the man tuning it putting some sort a blanking plug. I will have to look into that. I hoping to go to the Aprilia trackday at Silverstone organised by the Aprilia factory Facebook group, thats if my hips and knees are sorted by then. Four of us, BirkyD, Tapmyhead, Adam and myself. It will be nice to see how it compares against the 1060s. It hits 10k in top and with that gearing and tyre it shows its strong. Who would have thought that when I first spoke to you about picking it up from the IOM just over a couple of years ago I would have got this involved and spent this sort money, but I have really enjoyed it's development. Like I said I owe the forum a lot, also AP especially when I first rebuilt it and I wasn't so knowledgeable. I hope a few more go to Silverstone, it will be nice to see more twins there. Might get to meet you if you come. All the best Richard. |
