Anyone else had issues with theirs? Had the brake pin on the master cylinder recall and all felt fine

Last week though I've gradually noticed it get worse

I'm not sure if this is something I should call the shop for warranty. Surely a oem part like this shouldn't start warping after 6 months and so few miles?

have you checked that the bobbins on the disk are free ?

sometimes they can gum up or stick giving the feeling of a warp ??

Another possibility for brake pulsing is explained here (bit wordy but worth the read):

Thank you! That's a damn good link if a little lengthy

I've learnt two things. The first is that I should try some garnet paper

The second is that I need to upgrade the fluid as I've had brake fade on it before and it's not nice

I had a vfr once that vibrated so bad under front brake use from speed that it blurred my vision. The dealer fitted 2 sets of discs and new wheel bearing etc etc under warranty. Turned out to be a cupped front tyre, new set of rubber and all good after that.

If there is no pulsing, just vibration it might not be the brakes.

I've got it booked in for its 6k service and do see if they can sort under warranty but I'll need to sort something before then to atleast improve it so smoothing any hot spots off is the plan

Let me know how you get on with the smoothing bud please. Mine is pulsing slightly, I have some garnet paper ready, but haven't got round to sanding the discs yet.

I always give my discs a good abrading before changing pads as it takes away all the transferred pad material, something you definitely need to do as a priority if changing pad make/composition

The recommended tool is a rotary brush type thing along the lines of a honing tool but abrasive paper will do a similar job, just less easy and takes longer

I use one of these for cleaning the discs, there are cheaper alternatives but these work very well.

That's the thing I was thinking about,I could only remember it was sort of brush like with abrasive balls on the end of wires

We use bottle brush type hones at work and that was clouding my memory

Cheers guys... Huuuuge help

Looked at discs and I can see a part in each disc with black bits of the pad. I'm certain this is what's making the brake 'grab' and give me that pulse feeling so I'll order some up and sort once home

Quick update on this. My 'local' bike shop had the bike in for its 6k service and to check the disc issue

Called within a few days to say service done, bike cleaned and yes definitely an issue with discs. All done under warranty

Now thats service!
