trying to bleed the rear caliper on the falco and getting nowhere...
so have decided to reverse bleed using an easy bleed. anybody here want to say no don't do it and offer an alternative, i've been sitting in the garage a week and got nowhere...followed Griffs video, no success. it is a refurbished caliper and was empty.

Do you mean the Gunson Easybleed that you connect to a spare wheel to pressurize?
If so can't see why not although I do it the old school way,it's always worked for me. I did mine recently when I refurbed the rear caliper and had it bled in about 10 minutes and a couple of res worths of fluid without any of this 'hang the caliper upside down as high as it will go' nonsense. I also did it again a few weeks back when I fitted my new rearsets,it took me a few minutes longer that time and about 4 res's full but still less than 20 mins I reckon. I find that by cracking the bleed nipple and holding my finger over the end and working the pedal/lever you fill the system with fluid very quickly,in fact if you removed the nipple completely the system will tend to do that anyway just by gravity. I recommend removing the nipple anyway and wrapping a few turns of plumbers PTFE tape round the threads (in the correct direction so it tightens as you replace it) to seal them as Brembo's machining is crap and the threads will tend to suck air in during the bleeding process. Once that's done just follow the age old practice of squeeze/press lever/pedal then tighten nipple. release lever to recharge then repeat. Once I have a firm pedal I press the pistons fully in while opening the nipple to purge any bubbles behind them. |

That's the one Ian always wrap with tape as I come from a hydraulics background. The return spring broke on the pedal so thinking easy bleed to blow the air out. I've got all day Sunday to hopefully sort it before it goes for paint ready for my france trip.
Thanks for the tips/info |

Coming from a hydraulics background you could probably give me plenty of tips, didn't mean to teach Grandmother to suck eggs
Why would anyone want to suck eggs anyway ? The only time I ever use any bleeding aids is on the car as me and the Mrs are a bad combination where hydraulics are concerned. I've had one of those Gunson's for many years now,but it's a pita having to drag a spare wheel up under the bonnet so I'm thinking about splashing out on a Sealey VS820 for those rare occasions. |

No offence taken..sometimes a different point of view sheds light on a problem..
Yeah I have no wish to suck eggs unless they're Cadbury mini eggs😀 I've got a kr1s wheel pumped up so don't need to drag a spare wheel out, luckily |
