Hi guys, not trying to be lazy and I have done a search first but I am looking to buy either a RSVR or a Tuono. I have heard the Tuono is exactly the same as a RSVR but without the fairings and has more upright bars. Is that exactly true? Are the engines the same? Usually the nakeds are slightly detuned.
I think I prefer the Gen 2 over the Gen 1 simply because it is a bit newer tech and I like the front end better. Is it simply the RSVR is the Standard bike and the Factory gets the Ohlins and the lighter wheels? Is there a particular year to go for or avoid? I know some will say I should go for the Factory but if the standard bike was a lot cheaper does it make the stock bike a bargain? Thanks. |

In a nut she'll they are the same not de tuned just a few mods for more midrange, the factory models have the bling etc do prices are higher IMO the most noticeable mod is the lightweight OZ wheels. If the price is right I'd get the whatever suits yr budget |

Tav,
I used to own a Gen 2 Tuono, the big bore one that was advertised for sale on here until recently. I'm now looking again and considering an RSVR Factory. I've had a test ride on one - definitely not as comfortable as the Tuono for me, but I'm 6'7" so most bikes are cramped!! Somehow it feels faster, even though the Tuono ended up with a big bore, evo air kit and the sprocket mods for quicker acceleration. Best advice I could give you is to ride both, you may find that one or the other suits you more. I was commuting more on the Tuono so made more sense, the RSVR will be mainly for fun so I can take being cramped and hunched over a bit better!! |

Hi Doddsy, I was trying to buy your old bike. I sold mine then messaged the current owner but he hasn't responded. Must have sold it :(

Yeah, it was difficult getting hold of him, I finally got a response earlier in the week by email saying he'd sold it, shame as I'd have bought it back in a flash
