Iv a dorsoduro and bought it a few months back service light comes on sometimes
But it's been serviced, then it broke down with the unplug ecu on dash Disconnected the battery and left it overnight as advised. Then it ran ok Drove to work and came out and same again no power just comes up disconnect ecu Anyone any experienced this before.? Can't get it booked in for a month. Also is it ok to replace ecu without having to reprogram anything.? Really fed up with it now makes me want to get rid of it. |

That warning is a communication error. (hence the disconnect picture) it's not telling you to disconnect anything.. They use a CAN bus like the later rsv's and any comms error between major components of the bus will shut things down.
Only practical thing you can do is check and remake the connections at the dash and ecu in case some corrosion got in there. Beyond that it will be a dealer with an axone or navigator to pull the diags. The service message is not related to routine servicing. You get a spanner symbol for that.

Pretty sure the DD uses the shiver motor. If that is the case check and maybe replace the injector relay. I know on the shiver it gives an ecu disconnect message if it fails. Seems to pull the bus down when it does.

My dd12 kept coming up with service, the spanner, and be really down on power. After realising it was sometimes slow to spin over on the starter and the dash was doing funny things, I ripped the data tool alarm from the bike, redid all the connections properly and now she is behaving like she ought to, although I am in the process of seeing if there is a uprated starter relay and battery as I want to make my bike as reliable as possible.

You'd have thought that by now Aprilia would have learnt the lessons about scrimping on electrics

My problems were caused by the "professional" company that installed my alarm, they messed my loom right up by not making proper connections and wrapping it in crappy insulation tape rather than heat shrink.
