Hello, first post about a bike I've owned for not far over a week, what can possibly go wrong!
Anyway, I brought it, washed it and noticed the left side fuel cap drain point was filling with water. Having investigated using the technical method of poking some wire down there, I came across the hose connector at the base of the tank to be crudded up with what looked like a hard water build up. Eventually got it clear but I put the question of how this happened out to you all? My only dodgy theory is a bit frustrating dirt got down there and water pooled around the metal connector causing the hard build up? Although I do question this as it was a lot of limescaley looking gunk (a good 2cm and all around the connector) Cheers for the suggestions! |

Very common buddy, some worse than others. Mine was a tank off job, and drill out with a 3 or 4mm drill bit. Good clean up, then a little squirt of ACF50, to the fitting.
