Hey guys,
So I've finally gotten around to putting the bike on the dyno. And we've had a few problems getting her running right. She's an 01RP model. Running 57mm TB's Jolly's airtray Edwards air tubes Harris 2 into 2 system. unknown Eprom. Brand new supercorsa's She pulled 126HP and 78ftlbs at the wheel. Issues: She wasn't running right below 4 grand. Almost like she was running on one cylinder, very slow throttle response and lumpy! We were pulling -35 fuel out. She fouled two sets of plugs before we got her running. The little blue dials in the ECU (I forget what they are called) The left one was set to 7 oclock and the right one to 12. So I set them both to 12 (little arrows pointing up. That seemed the fix the problem below 4k. So we switched out the eprom with a 250 from Griff and put her back on the dyno. Made only 1HP more! So I have questions for the brains trust.... 1. What is the correct settings for the blue dials for my setup? 2. Are my HP figures in the ballpark for my setup? 3. How do I identify the old EPROM? I need to know if the old chip is the same as the new one or am I not doing something to activate the new chip and get more power? I'd appreciate any advice and thoughts. Cheers BJL |

The trimmers are for co balancing. They will effect low to mid fueling. The correct setting is determined by a gas analyser as every bike will be a bit different. The rsv generally runs better with a stagger towards the rear cylinder so about 3.5 co front and 4% rear. The trimmers are very sensitive so even being a small amount out can really mess up the bottom end so checking it properly is the only way to know it’s correct.

Hi
On that set up around 128 bhp is normal in my experience. Obviously all dyno’s are different and tyre pressure also makes a difference. Some dyno’s don’t replicate ram air either and use fans just for cooling. The Bemsee dyno for example doesn’t do ram air and read about 15-20 bhp under results id seen previous. So long as it feels good and the fuelling is right now, then what you have should be good

Good info in link below. I've had improvement doing it by ear but I think you really need the gas analyser to get it bang on. |
