Hi all. I usually use Shell regular stuff as the VPower might be too rich considering its a 17 year old bike. What petrol do people use as I understand some can be more harmful than others.
Thanks.

Don't stress it I spend ages sometimes looking for stuff that I know is there somewhere A search for 'petrol' doesn't bring up much that's useful when I just tried and I know it's been hammered to death over time |

Ethanol free petrol is very hard to find. The manufacturers switch in a wim. There is no right for them to tell you what they sell. E10 is coming, and they 'say' ethanol free will still be available. But if its anything like leaded petrol the 30 or so garages tried to sell it at 1.40 a litre, so use died away in favour of expensive additives.

I use whatever high octane fuel the petrol station I am in has, when you are in the middle if nowhere on a ride out you can't be too choosey what fuel goes in. A lot of petrol stations I have been in don't have super unleaded.

Esso Synergy Supreme + unleaded is the only ethanol free petrol in the UK, as far as I can find -except Devon, Cornwall and Teeside areas. I've emailed most of the suppliers.
If you go to their website, there's a station finder. I found 3 or so within a few miles of me, that I'd never noticed before. The red pump |

Is there much of a difference using ethanol free? I mostly fill up with the cheap stuff at my local Morrisons garage.

If you've got a steel tank no but plastic tank yes, steel tanks though on numerous makes of bikes have been known to suffer internal rusting through the use of ethanol fuel.

True, but the main problem with steel tanks is the Ethanol causing water separation and said water rusting the tank Ethanol by itself isn't the problem a lot of the time, water and nylon is not a good combination, neither is water and steel
