Just a heads up guys if anyone's wanting parts. Sold the bike to a local (to me) breaker who'll be stripping it in the near future.

Guys,
Just seeing if there's any interest here before I go out to the masses. I took in a lightly damaged 2006 Tuono over a year ago. It's the Gen 2 model so radial brakes etc. Pretty standard apart from some Mivv carbon cans. Bought direct from the insurers so unfortunately no history with it. Only 12000 miles, no write off marker on the V5 but I believe it was categorised D in 2016. V5 in my name, on SORN and obviously no MOT. It suffered a very minor spill, mirrors/levers/indicators etc which have all been replaced. However, it has an electrical gremlin that I haven't been able to pin down. Basically, when the battery's connected it does the normal dash scroll and will fire up but when switched off and key taken out the indicators come on, dash stays in start up mode. I've replaced the ECU, dash (with key), both bar switches with items I know work but the fault still remains. I'm convinced there's a break or short in the loom somewhere (canbus system so multiple errors can stem from the single fault) but buggered if I can find it. I dare say someone with the right equipment and patience would narrow it down with little difficulty. Frankly, I got fed up with it and parked it in the barn. I was going to have one last go at it before calling defeat & breaking it, but I've not had a brilliant year so far with injuries (pesky post classic racing) & I now find out I have to have another knee replacement so I'll be out of the game for probably the rest of the year. We're in the process of buying a house in Spain and could do with a bit of earnings coming from me! So....a perfect platform for a cheap road or track Gen 2 Tuono, or ideal for breaking. If breaking it the sum of all parts would conservatively net around £3750 (accurate figures, I've done enough to know, even have a spreadsheet detailing it ) £2250 buys it Only this one photo at the moment. I've taken off the front & rear bodywork since then. Please PM me for any more details |
