Morning all. In need of some new pads for the front and i remember reading about SBS pads a lot and people raving about them. My question is which ones for 90% road riding wirh a couple of trackdays thrown in a year if im lucky .Also whats the going rate or a good supplier so i can avoid cheap rip offs.

Many thanks

I recently went for SBS pads - after lots of reading around I went for the Street Excel Sintered version (HS)

No issues with bed in time - felt great from the off. They feel equally as good as the far more expensive red backed Brembo pads they’re replacing. Can’t comment on track days though.

I’m now using these on both my R1 and Falco

Purchased through e-bay (DR bikes) wouthout any problems whatsoever.

Think these might be your figment...

I have Street Excel in the rear on mine but next time I'd go with Race
Sinter the same as I use in the front on both bikes.

I like the feel and bite of the race spec and have never found any fade so I have no need to try the carbon upgrade.

Race Sinter front and back both bikes road and track get my vote

I got mine from Ducati Mondo online, good price and delivery

It was a couple of years back I bought them and before any fronts were needed

Thank you gentlemen will be ordering a couple of sets this evening . Absolutely destroyed the pads at snetterton last week  that i thought had a good bit of meat on them when I serviced the calipers over the winter. Running brembo atm so will be interesting to see if there is any difference other thsn being almost half the cost!

Sbs are great pads and I used them for years, only swapped to bremno sc as they were recommended for iron discs. I used the street excel and they were great pads.

Just a heads up  I've ordered the RS pads from Ducati mondo through eBay as there is an offer on until 8pm today for 15% off any order over 20 quid so complete front set for 60 quid delivered happy days.  Fantastic communication from Russ to clarify the correct pads thank you all for the recommendation .

When swapping to different pads it's advisable to clean your discs, something like scotchbrite and brake cleaner to remove the old pad coating.

I usually use fine to medium wet and dry instead, but you're right, all the old pad deposits need cleaning off  before you try bedding in the new
