As the title suggests, I'm looking to sort out a gear lever/shifter thats shorter that the standard one as despite all my efforts to get a good fit by adjusting the lever position and the rotating rubber adjuster, I can't get a feel that satisfies both up shifting without excessively trying to push the lever forward rather than up and down shifting whilst keeping the rear of my foot on the footpeg; not lifting my whole foot of the footpeg. I suspect it has something to do with my rather large feet!
Anyway, is there a shorter lever out there that can clamp straight on? I'm sure getting another standard one and doing a cut and shut job on it would work but, just no..! Far to bodge-job like for even my standards! Any suggestions most appreciated. (Gen 2 Tuono 2008 with a direct acting lever, no linkages)

give griff a ring he might have a suggestion but like you said a cut and shut should do the job by a decent welder and easier than trying to sores one that will fit

Try a thicker pair of socks, sounds weird but worked for me when I kept getting false neutrals on the up change 👍

Righty ho, in order:
I wear a variety of sock thicknesses but I think that's not my problem, false neutrals aren't an issue. It's less about how far the lever needs to move up or down to change gear, more the fact I can't wrap my kayak of a foot around the lever! Hehe. No I don't have readsets but nor do I intend to get them. I like where the pegs currently sit and don't wanna spend a chunk of money on these, yet anyway... I assume you mean the rotating toe fine-tuning adjuster is available with a longer reach? If true please do advise, could be an easy solution! |

This looks like it's the answer, but is there a place to get them that isn't AF1 as they ask for £20 postage and would prefer not to pay that much just for delivery if possible. A quick squiz on eBay shows no luck... |
