Can anybody tell me why I have two different inlet cams in my 2003 Tuono. They are not worn out before anybody says that. They have different ID numbers & different profile. The exhaust cams are the same though.

one cam ends in 104366/1 the other 104748

The cams have never been out since it was built at the factory, I sold in 2004, only myself & the owner have done any maintenance on it. Only because the cams have come out to do the shims did I notice a difference in profile visually. Just wondered as i have replaced them with a matching pair anyway now.
It`s the first time I have ever noticed this on the many I have done previously.

Not 100% certain but I think you have 1 euro and 1 US spec intake cam. Later in production it appears they had matched cams but earlier versions were different spec depending on regs for the destination.

Maybe the heads got mixed up in the production run and you got one destined for the US market.
