So the Mille is no more ...well it’s a pile of parts I could probably build it as a standard Mille with the bits I have but that’s for another day in the future m
So in the meanwhile I have moved onto falco’s got a nice one ready to go with highbars and a few other mods done by the previous owner (thanks Rob) Frankenfalco aka project scrambler is go!!!!! ........it’s been a pile of parts and a dead falco (thanks Nooj) for a long time so thought i’d better make a start or it will never happen. Inspiration was at first the victory pikes peak racer project 156... I may revisit this idea with another falco frame or this may in time go that way after seeing the triumph below my plans morphed a little into this so while up the garage I managed to pull a few parts off and fitted the knobbles and bars to start getting some idea at how this will really look fat 180 knobbly next week i'll start seriously thinking about which engine I'm going to use as the one in it is dead , guy checked the valves and thought he dropped something in the engine, left the valve cover off and its had rain etc in it all the cams are rusty so this scrap engine will yield a front cam sensor and stator etc for ......................................................... a gen 2 engine... picked one up before Christmas for £200! its either that or a mille engine that would be easier to fit as a straight bolt in engine...the gen 2 needs the front head modded for a gen1 cam sensor and the stator / flywheel swapping out for a gen1 item off the scrap engine . fingers crossed this weekend will see the forks swapped out with some gold showas Griff rebuilt a while back and only have about 1k on them and the engine pulled out.... then start slicing up a falco seat unit to see if I can get anything like my mock-up pic, it will be slimmer than the falco unit failing that I may go with a panigale seat unit to be a bit different think it would suit it and close to my mock-up pic? |

Ohhh looking forward to seeing how this develops a build from the parts messiah himself. I like where you are going with this Mark as long as you dont start growing a beard and drinking craft beverages

It's not a RS seat unit, it's a HRC based part and I don't own the mould. As with 99.9% of the parts on my bike it's a one off, it's nice to know that you have made the only one in the whole world and not just slung a load of cash at something. |

The genuine seat looks like it's 4 or 5 pieces with the seat, plus the subframe. There's replica ones that are basically 1 piece, but I'm sure you don't want a horrible bit of foam to sit on...

Ah good, I see now. Yes that would work much better.
I was looking at stuff like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-PANIGALE-889-1199-SBK-RACE-RACING-TRACK-DAY-TAIL-STOCK-SEAT-FAIRING/162831689734?hash=item25e9866806:g:AYgAAOSwi0RXzrPU Which would give the old harris a hard time. What about the actual seat seat? |

If it were me, I'd do the same. What about the subframe? Modified Ducati or build one from scratch?
The more I look at that seat, the more I like it. Remember when we were all putting 916 seats on our Gixer's? |

Ah, the good old days, I remember seeing Burns and his bikes at Santa Pod, when Superbike magazine used to run ¼ mile races...it was all the rage for a while. Remember doing an 11.06 on a Kwak GPz1100, so close to getting into the 10s.
