My Mrs is starting a new business and instead of raising all the funds out of debt , it makes sense to dispose of some assets to reduce the burden to help her out . I have already disposed of the other bikes I had but have doggedly hung on to this one. I don't need to sell it but thought I would offer it on here and let fate decide. Feb 2003 registered RSV Mille SP. Sat in its crate until then so unless there is another non registered SP its probably the last one registered. Mileage is 4285 careful miles. 100% exactly as it left Aprilia. Has all its bits : Road exhaust and manifold, racing airfilter, carbon air filter seal, cover , paddock stand, shot gun exhausts , tank stay, service book, handbook , 2 keys. NEVER been on a track and NOT an ex race bike. Nice personal SP reg. Excellent condition. Runs/rides exactly as it should . Seen by some members at the festival of Italia this year. Last inspected/serviced and fettled by the man himself, so if you want to know what its like I am sure he won't mind you calling him. Not advertised anywhere else . Sad really but if it does go to a new home its been a privilege to be the custodian of such an iconic bike/work of art. It will only go one way in price if you look after it. Open to very sensible offers. |

That's about £10.5k which is about right imo. You won't get a really clean one for much less I don't think.

I am surprised the SP is holding its value that well. 1st and 2nd gen RSV's are really cheap here in the states (with the exception of the Nera edition).

It's an SP! If it were a Ducati it would be twice the price.

I think $10.5 is very cheap. If its complete , low mileage with all its accessories and hasn't been on a track I think its worth more like $17/20 K .

You need to realize that the SP was not a cover it in stickers / lets shift stock model. Its a limited production run of 150 units . It was produced to meet homologation rules for the WSBK Allegedly each bike cost Aprilia £93 K and they were sold at a big loss. Many went to race teams. They were offered out at the time for £25K. If you can find one that has a documented history, hasn't been raced and has all its accessories you should buy it. It really is something very special and will only retain/go up in value. There have always been rumors of SP's being offered for sale below £10K , but I have never seen one and if there were they would have probably been for ex-race bikes with issues/bits missing. I know a few years ago I was chasing 2 bikes , neither came off as both times owners changed their minds , but even then they would have been in the £13 K region to buy. On the other hand I have seen bikes that people were trying to pass off as SP's , and have seen 2 SP's offered for sale that had many original parts missing. To be worth the money the bike has to be original with a verifiable history and all its accessories. When you think the current stock of available sportsbikes are starting from £16 K upwards , then having a piece of history that's very unique and special for £15k seems to me to be good value. These bikes make great investments. No tax when you buy it, no management fee and no tax when you sell it. Its just my opinion.
