I've been a member for some time now and never posted any pictures of the bike. So here we go, a few shots of the bike.
I've owned it since March and it was in a bit of a sorry state when I got it, in fact, I probably should have left it there, after traveling nearly 5 hours, low on coffee with an empty belly I just couldn't wait to get the bike into the van and get home. Since I've had the bike I've: fully serviced it. Changed Therese susp links back to standard height. Had a TB balance @AP. New tyres. Carbon exhaust hangers. Rear seat cowl. New forks (the originals had the dreaded crack). New decals. Neutral jet. Replaced coolant with Evans waterless. HID conversion and all other bulbs changed to CREE. Finally a damn good clean as the thing was bogging. The bike now rides and looks much much better and I'm chuffed to bits with it. Still plenty to do but I'll be waiting for the winter. |

Cheers folks, rear sets, quick shifter and a PC next.
That's after I've painted the decking and cut the grass ofcourse Talking of qucksgifters ect what's the best combo? Also has anyone replaced the neutral jet for the 40? I've got it to change but wondering if there are any side effects to reducing the size. |

You have done a great job on your bike, think it's really good when someone takes a great bike that has seen better days and returns it to a better state.
Please post your progress on quick shifter as that is a mod that interests me and I'm sure others. |

Yes im in Cardiff as well but grew up in the Wye Valley
Griff / Lewis fitted my PCV when it last went up to AP and REPS Motorcycles in Caldicot fitted the QS and mapped it. If you don't mind travelling Ledbury way Lee's Motorcycles is very good and could do everything Chris

SO.... what exactly was it?
I think I see most of the R Factory bits... but the frame is polished... Frame swap? Whats the story? Love seeing more grey ones :) (Fastest color... don't tell the others!) |

Well, as far as i'm aware its a factory. All paperwork says factory, all databases say its a factory. I didn't realise frames changed colour from an R model to a factory when I bought it, after finding this out I thought I had bought a modified R. however, when I took it to AP to have the TB balance done Griff gave me a bit of an insight to the bike using the chassis number. What we know is that its one of the first Gen 2's to come into the country and was actually built in 2003 although its a 2004 bike. Griff seems to think it was one of the first factory bikes in the country, the chances are it was a demo bike and it could be a legit factory on a polished frame. The only thing he did say was missing was the carbon winglets If anyone has any for sale Based on that I'm going to say its a factory I would love to know 100% but I'm not sure how I could find out. It certainly is the fastest , pulls like a train

You can tell by the vin.
Here is the VIN Identification from the manual. Also... I completely respect Griff on this as he has seen more than probably anyone out there. Early Factories have Signatures on the tank. Interesting mystery! :) |

Also... for fun. Look at the ecu. There is a 6 digit ECU Firmware version marked on it. That can also help date it for you.
