The ZX had heated grips when I got it but the left grip was moving about quite a lot when I did the trackday so it had to go, so why not take the opportunity to get a sly bit of fettling in and add a bit of Italian flavour to the Green meanie ... So it's now got an Accossato quick action throttle (good God that was a nightmare to fit...had to go for a universal kit and cut the cables to length myself and bugger doing that again in a hurry) and a 19x20 Accossato master to pep up the braking a bit... so it's starting to feel a bit more MY bike now😎 |

Cheers dude . It's not far off for this year now, just gotta have the forks serviced as one is leaking after the trackday (think it's the most work they've ever done ferrying my lump around Donington ) and then get a matching clutch perch and that'll do.....for now |

Good call fella, looks smart
I got some of those Accossato grips, fitted when I did a Domino QA throttle -but when they turned up in the post, They'd sent me 2 left hand grips. When i emailed to sort it, turned out that's all they had, so they refunded the money and let me keep them. I have one facing forwards and one facing backwards!! Thing is, I actually really like them that way and that's how they're staying Going back to carbon wheels for a sec.... I had to use a lot of the money saved for mine, for some mega vets bills. But now things are getting better again financially, would you go Dymag or BST? I'm asking this question again, now you've had time to live with them.... |

2 left hand grips....corking, another Italian Friday afternoon parcel that was then .
Well Rick, I think I'd stick with my original thoughts, dynamically I don't think there's anything between them and new they're about the same price, so it just comes down to the aesthetics and,for me, the BST's just look a far more premium product, especially in the way the carbon is joined, so if I had the choice of 2 brand new sets in front of me, free or the same price, I'd go for the BST's all day long buddy😎.... ooh, I feel like the Barry Norman of carbon wheels now |

That's the thing isn't it? -not being able to see the products side by side and only in pictures! Any idea how old the Dymags are? Not sure if they changed their design. |

I'm not sure on the Dymag's if I'm honest and I'm not even sure if he brought them new🤔...so it's entirely possible that they're an older set and their qc has increased now...
The thing is, BST's have always been top quality haven't they and I think it speaks volumes that Ducati chose them to make the wheels for the 1299 Superlegerra...so for me you've got BST's which you know ,100%, are the dogs doodahs and then Dymag, which are undoubtedly good, maybe as good but also may not be quite as good, but certainly aren't better.... |

It'd be BST's for me I think , still not 100% on the Rotobox design if I'm honest. |

I looked long and hard at the Rotobox Mark. Just a bit too chunky for me. The newer design is better, but for the money I want the best I can get.
I think Adam did the best thing when he got his nearly new and immaculate BST's. Sadly they don't come up that often and age would certainly be a factor. I think BST's are recognized as the best. They probably have the best quality control and manufacturing process (as they pointed out to me). The Dymags are lighter, but you probably need a certain amount of rotating mass. I'm sure they told me that they had a new manufacturing process in their emails to me. I'll have to check again. Dymag will do the hubs anodized in the colour I want. Bst said they may in future but no dates and certainly more than a year before they do so. They said that this is because they do everything in house including the anodizing etc -as they wouldn't trust the quality of anyone else's consistency. I had actually taken the plunge with Dymag a little while ago. Most seem to have BST, so being a bit different. They have got a great rep and although not using carbon wheels, the likes of Micheal Dunlop use their wheels at the IOM. Dymag were also great when I pulled out of buying them at the 11th hour, due to sudden and unexpected vet bills (I knew I shouldn't have cancelled that pet insurance policy. Both the other dogs are insured!) BST have been trying to tempt me with their new coloured carbon. The gold looks ok, as does the green. The red looks burgundy. But then It wouldn't match the rest of the carbon and coloured carbon is not really my thing. Griff has BST's on his Gen1 and Dymags on his V4. He reckons the BST's just edge it on quality. Though he did say on the FB page, I noticed a while ago, that he wouldn't fork out for new ones. So I'm back to the awful decision making again. Heart says Dymag, head says BST. |

Oh I know Ian! You're totally right of course. I certainly don't need them either and already fitted OZ's. I keep telling myself what else I could have with the money. I do want a jump on and go bike for running around on for instance. Something I don't have to worry too much about leaving in public! The thing is that I get as much pleasure working on and looking at my bike as I do riding it these days. Which is a good job with my leg and back ha ha. I used to build custom bikes and it might show in my mentality towards the Ape a bit. Also, I've spent so much on it already. The 2 final things I want, is to put the BB I've already got in the bike running Autotune -and the cf wheels. Then there isn't much more I can do and the itch will have been scratched. Never had cf wheels and don't think that I'd ever even consider it on a different bike. No other sports bike has ever left such an impression on me though as the RSV, even outdated as it is now by the new stuff. Maybe I should have bought those magnesium Dymags on here. I nearly did but got pipped at the post. My own fault for umming and ahhing about them. By the time they came up the second time, I'd already committed to the cf wheels, which I'd been holding out for anyway, before those ones came up. Also in the not too distant future, I will want something more modern to put in the garage as well and will try everything to resist going down the same route with that, as I already have my "special". I've got lots of bits coming up for sale, so that will help. Not unlike exchanging loads of bits I've collected over the years for a good portion of the wheels. I could shell out now, but after the last vet emergency, I want to build up another decent safety net! I saved solidly for about five years for all the bits done so far. I have no mortgage or kids etc. I certainly ain't rich, always been careful with money, Just living a simple life here on the boat But the wheels are calling to me ha ha |

Oh if only it was as simple mate Sorry Adam, i think I've hijacked yet another of your threads! One of the more unfortunate consequences of being the owner of 2 sets of cf wheels...? Now about your Kwacker, any other plans, or just enjoy now as is? |

Hahaha, hijack away Rick, mi post es tu post...😎... My last word on the subject.... BST's f@cking rock🤘 .... The Kwack? It's going to be another full on project I think, I have a head full of really uneccessary additions for it right now and I think I'm going to get a few quotes to see if they are realistically doable or not but....i quite fancy a 985cc big bore, a set of flatslides, slipper clutch etc....might be way out of my league pricewise but maybe not if I spread it over a few years again, if I can stretch to it though it'll be a proper sleeper😎 |

Looking great Ad . Accosato gear is top draw in my humble opinion and a little less common than brembo which is always a good thing.

Well, the zx is back on the road again, sent the new seat hump off to get painted and while it was in had the mudguard repaired and resprayed, the forks have been serviced and have got new seals, oil and K-tech springs and it's now got an Accossato clutch perch to match the brake master....oh and 2 teeth bigger on the rear and 1 smaller on the front.... just had a shakedown run and blimey, the qa throttle and that new gearing has certainly pepped things up a bit .... |

Howdy Ad. Only just saw your post buddy , been flat out with one thing or another...hope the holiday was good and sorry I missed the bbq, was off the road still until getting the mudguard back today and couldnt face coming up in my focus and being faced with all those Ape's, it would have tipped me over the edge . Yeah, the ZX is pretty much done for the year now I think and it actually feels pretty good now and is certainly a lot livelier than a few weeks ago... time to get another trackday booked up I think😎 |

Mate the holiday was amazing thanks and the bbq was bloody brilliant shame you couldn't come. You made me chuckle about the focus tipping point, I think my missus should read that my focus has done quite enough tipping hehe. She's looking lovely and I bet it flys definitely a great track sleeper!
