After waiting like what felt forever redratbike kindly donated tigcraft system bits are gettin fitted as we speak. Today saw the chopping up of an old system to get the flanges and the chopping down if one can as it was split so they've both lost about 7cm off the length and got repacked. So far all I've got done is one can mounted and the system mounted. The next 3 days should be link pipes made up and 2 brackets to hold the cans up. Here's some pics of today's work

ive just got my first vtwin and i think i got the right one

Have you checked for clearance on full suspension droop?   Cos that looks mighty close to the dogbone and I'm assuming you have some weight on the bike?

Cheers mr apple if ya can go for it

Yeah it's real close Ian but at the moment it's not bolted up properly and just hanging there. Hopefully when it's bolted up right and has the downpipe springs on it'll fit a bit better. Takin some stands tmora with me so I'll check the suspension on full drop. Cheers for the idea I didn't think of that

Mornin Nickyboy. No pics from yesterday unfortunately as the day was full of problems. First the bandsaw blade went blunt so I got a new one and that lasted for 5 cuts be for it went so I spent most of the day unsuccessful tryin to cut a curate pie slices with a grinder. It didn't work. Hopefully today will see the right. Link pipe finished the other can cut and new brackets made. So far over 2 days I've spent about 18 hours on it. I'm absolutely nakered and today's goin to be s long one 8m till 11 pm. So better get a move on

Cheers Ian

Well it's finished after 5 very very long days and so many headaches and almost giving up more than once. I have to say I'm quite chuffed with meself that I managed to do it. All it needs now is for me to find a tig welder to borrow so I can weld it up fully. Try in to sort out some pics now but photobucket bein a dick. Had a result with it too. Was doin it at the local tech college and there was one of the teachers who had been watching me build it. Turns out he's had every rsv model they've made and he races them too. He was impressed with what I've done so he's putting in a word for me at his mates who restores old English bikes result the best bit is when the blokes not restoring bsa and ariels he owns an aprillia dealership so fingers crossed. Back to sort in out pics brb

Cheers everyone yeah fingers crossed for the lead ya never know where it might go.
I made a set of pipes worthy of NBS night time readin. I'll take that as the best compliment I could've expected

I'll admit to starting it up as soon as it was finished but as its needin welding up ya couldn't realy get a good idea what it was like. Sounded like an old cortina with a badly blowing exhaust expect a video when it's ready

Now they look really nice. What are the pipes from engine to collector? is it a full 2-2 system or gen 2 headers?
