Is that homebase ? I couldn't see it on their website . However i did find this one .............. http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/ultimate-storage-56in-10-drawer-tool-trolley-374362 Which is smaller than your one. I'm not doubting you , just asking and saving my legs as for under a monkey I would order one tomorrow. I also found these........... http://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equipment/tool-chests-cabinets/stc7200b-stainless-steel-work-bench and its big brother............... http://www.sgs-engineering.com/garage-equipment/tool-chests-cabinets/stc9600b-stainless-steel-work-bench Both of which look like value ........... tool box porn. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Trojan made condoms. ( they do in XL for those of us with small egos ) https://www.undercovercondoms.co.uk/Condoms/Trojan/30/Trojan-MagnumXL-Lubricated-Condoms.html?zmam=34062620&zmas=9&zmac=104&zmap=PK65&gclid=CjwKEAiAz4XFBRCW87vj6-28uFMSJAAHeGZbnQFwBbNUGrt3q7mtyVxKvPnLZGW-AXPjjeuW-eJ41RoCn1jw_wcB |

So went to my local Homebase in Sevenoaks............no luck. they have the small one which allowed me to check out the quality which i thought was very good. So now I want one............ Called Homebase Orpington , no luck, Tunbridge Wells , niet , Bromley , No sir, Croydon , nah ..........Canterbury, Dartford , Penge, East Grinstead , Dover and Folkestone..........niet, nein , no , non etc etc . This is like looking for hens teeth.................... Then finally, Homebase Reigate had one so money paid and awaiting delivery. Apparently this is one of those special buys they are doing and once they are gone they are gone and that's it according to 3 of the branches. If you fancy one, get your skates on . I think its a cracking piece of kit and real value for money. I know £489 is £489 but given whats available in the mkt and a 40" snap on roll cab with wooden top is £1629 ...! I guess you pays your money and you takes your choice. Now top re-jig the garage to try get this monster in . Thank you for all your input , if it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't have known about it. Regards, Nat. |

Had mine about 2 years now , bought it off us pro tools but they are about £100 more, handy pieces of kit and saves me quite a bit of space really as my old top box took up half of one of my work benches.

Dear Hemi426 & Padded cell.................its all your fault. Have re-organised the garage to get the new tool box in and still lots of work to do. Walls to paint , junk to clear out etc etc . Its only a single garage so space is at a premium. However whilst its been lashing down I have been suffering from toolbox ocd and its all your fault. I blame the pair of you. If you hadn't shown me that box I would never find myself in my current predicament, so thanks a lot................... I only have about 300 sockets to place and some 100 spanners etc etc........still ; haven't managed to cut my fingers off yet which is a touch. |

One of the main reasons I was convinced to go for the APE was the Letters on the plate were OCD !
I just wish it were CDO - as that is OCD in the correct order !!

What the ! I can't show you my tool box and am in toolbox shame after seeing this lot. My snap on roll cab has been in my possession longer than when I didn't have one.The gear inside it is excellent though and I can take anything up to an ex army Bedford missile transport vehicle to bits with the stuff inside it, as boring enough, i have done.

I'm sure that's not far away...seeing as it's an Aussie company that's taken Homebase over it'll probably be one with a beer cooler and a barbie |

I personally like MAC for sockets and spanners, it's nice to know when you're up against a worn nut / bolt the sockets / spanners won't slip. If the nuts / bolts are rounded slightly they still grip well.
Halfords professional range is great. If you can get someone with a trade discount card you will save an absolute fortune!!! |

I've seen this one in the Homebase situated at the Orbital shopping centre (Swindon North). I would go for it, as it seems a good compromise for a non-professional use, but unfortunately at the moment there are other priorities moneywise...

(In my opinion) - If you earn your money using tools, then those tools will need to be the best you can afford, however if like most people you only spanner at home on your own bike / car etc as a hobby then get what suits the job, (ie) a wardrobe sized Snap-On toolchest is probably not cost effective.....
