Been busy tonight actually as it happens, was gonna post some pics when I get time, managed to fit the Ohlins forks and stripped out the old wiring loom, rear undertray now out, engine almost ready to come out too, wheels are proving a problem at the moment, the Brembo wheels that the bike came with got shipped off to powdercoat but got informed that they have severe corrosion and are scrap lol, so I'am now waiting for the old 10 spoke PVM wheels off my road bike to get finished, they're being powdercoated gloss black.!

Other than that, got a replacement black Gen1 early tank, the new lightweight oil tank is in the process of being made, new lightweight radiators are also in the pipeline, just having a quote done, this bike is certainly not gonna be the fastest, that not why I'am building it, I'am building it as close to the original 99 Goddard bike as I can get it, it will have mostly custom parts and be as exotic as I can afford lol....

The end goal is....

"Look and sound as exotic as possible"

Sounds like a fair bit of progress mate especially considering the state you got the bike in. There's me thinking this was going to be a track hack but it's already sporting ohlins with PVM wheel and other lightweight goodies in the pipeline. It's officially getting NickyBoy'd

I'm guessin they'd be fine. My reasoning for this is I had a zxr h1 a few years ago and ya know the retaining ring that holds the pipe in the head ? 9ne of mine had cracked and wouldn't hold the pipe in. Believe it or not I put a big nylon tie round it tight and I could get it bolted down. Nylon tie lasted years without burning off
ive just got my first vtwin and i think i got the right one

I'am having a local company to me having a look at making me some light weight alloy ones, it'll be joined at the top so will do away with the rubber hose but still keep all the original mounting points...

Started by getting the crappy shagged Showa forks out and cleaning the head stock which was covered in sh*t and crap and looked black before cleaned lol, got a nice shiny pair of Ohlins forks upfront now courtesy of the Big G man himself..!!

Still a LONG way to go lol, but getting there..!!

Replied Thumbs Up

Now just going to invest in one of those nice ally porn radiators for the T as mine was bent when it fell off the crappy stand.

I was going to paint it black to match but now thinking off treating the oil rads to a date with some NitroMoors instead and making them a feature instead off hiding them Confused

Well in spite of being delivered by the Yodel monkeys look what arrived undamaged recently

Not weighed it but it's really light and they say it's higher capacity and should potentially run cooler than stock.

So much for keeping this T stock then Big smile
