So, I have a strange rattle/buzz coming from the instrument panel area, comes and goes, very annoying, anyone had this or have any ideas. I've had a good rummage around but can't see anyting obvious, sounds a bit like 2 washers rattling together.

Hard to say mate. Does it do it when you rev it/certain revs on it's stand, or only when you're riding? When you hear it rattling/buzzing and if it's safe to do so whilst riding it, try pressing different parts of the dash/ clocks and body work/screen etc to see if it stops.

Could it be the brake pads chattering on the discs?

Is there any vibration felt through the bars or when braking? Do the disc bobbins need cleaning, causing vibration?

Does it go quiet when you apply the front brakes?

What sort of key ring do you have? Not 2 washers on a piece of string? Big smile (stranger things have happened lol)
Can you describe the noise and the circumstances when you tend to hear it?

Question everything.

Tends to be when moving, although at stand still with slight revs as well, not the key ring, it is really a lighter less mechanical noise, tried holding dash etc when moving, really sounds like a loose thing but can't think what.

Nearly choked on my pop then
Better to have something you don't need than need something you don't have....

Do you think it's an internal engine noise (they can sound a bit mechanically noisey close up).

Or is it definitely from somewhere on the outside of the bike.

Have you checked where all the bodywork mounts?

Could it be an exhaust header pipe bracket coming loose?

Could a washer or something have been dropped on the top of the engine or somewhere hidden?

Just to rule out the disc or disc chatter, tap the disc so it rings a bit. Is it the same pitch?
Question everything.

OK, now don't laugh.................It seems the strange buzzing noise was infact the 2 front fairing screws down infront of the instruments, the ones that hold the hole front subframe needed tightening.

Happy days
