Thought I would put this one out as it could be absolutely anything causing it.
My 02 has an odd misfire / stutter It's fine riding slow or normal around town. On the motorway I noticed if I sit at 5-6k then wind it up I get a random misfire Feels like the fuel is being cut for a split second . It has also cut out once And restarted after 10 secs of firing . Anyone has this issue before ? |

Does it always do it around 5-6k or does it do it under any kind of load ?.
Things it could be. Coil breaking down, Plug lead breaking down, Plug breaking down, kinked fuel hose. I had a similar but constant problem that related to failed plug caps. |

If you have a quickshifter fitted I had the same problem.
The feed wire to the power commander was running next to or across the coil HT leads and the induced current operates the power cut on the commander as though you are keeping your foot on the gear lever. Hope that helps

My Mille is sitting in the garage nice and warm waiting for someone to buy.
i was going to try and get a 600 track bike in place of it if I could have done a swap with cash for R6 or CBR 600rr I was even hoping to sell the mille and get a RSV4 factory if I can get it past the missus without her noticing. |

Ah the old swerve ball around the missus trick......I managed to get a new turbo sent to me as "boiler parts" and the exhaust as "plumbing parts", unfortunately failed with most other bits though :-(

Hi I just bought a gen 2 rsv last month. Which had Sam problem it just seem to miss a beat now and then. Eventually it stopped working. Luckily I had a Canadian bike mechanic staying and he had a look regulator/rectifier was nackered. Also he's said stator (generator) was burnt out. Right enough when I took casing of it was completly black with crispy bits Mmmmm nice. Anyway bought new bits from electrex £220 aprox. And goes great now. Hope you find the problem jimmy46
