It's worth considering if I have to go out and buy some - but like I said, I have loads of stuff for the repair and servicing on cars, just kinda wondering if I can use that and save some of the hard earned....Thumbs Up

I have done some more research into this and as it happens the Unipart Coolblue that I have in my workshop is nitrate and phosphate free as well as safe in all engines, and meets all of the specifications set out in the manual - only about £3.50/litre so I will be using this in my service... With distilled water obviously...

I will also be using the Unipart DOT 4 (Low viscosity ESP) brake fluid as this meets all of the specifications set down in the Aprilia handbook and my local Unipart dealer got the correct spark plugs in stock for me within a couple of hours (I do have an account with them).

Hope this helps someone.Wink

Thanks Nik, I do a lot with BMW's and their antifreeze is nitrate free and good for aluminium engines - you are advised to use distilled water when diluting that down as well so maybe I can use what I already have.

I was a little concerned but only because the information seemed a little bit vague.

What coolant should I be using??

Been servicing my new bike ready for summer and need to change out the coolant, but do I go for a specific motorcycle grade coolant or is antifreeze the same..? I have gallons of Antifreeze at my workshop glycol, OAT, SiOAT etc..... , the workshop manual says 2.2l capacity with a 50% blend of glycol based coolant - do I use BMW stuff, Unipart stuff, Bluecol or Unobtainium motorcycle gold plated coolant??

Thanks in advance as ever chaps.Thumbs Up
