Thanks Ape.

I've found another at Alf's Motorcycles, Worthing (even further away!!)
http://www.alfsmotorcycles.co.uk/locator/465194/2003-03-reg-aprilia-rsv-r-rsv-1000-r-now-reduced.aspx

It's number 149, full history, previous MOT's, invoices etc. 4owners and a bit cleaner than the Southern Cross one.

Does anyone know this one?

Thanks

Michael

I know Mick at Alf's assuming he is still there (salesman), he raced Endurance with some of my mates and supplied my first Rsv back in 2000.

Not been in there for a few years now but they are nice guys or were last visit. If he tells you the last owner there is a good chance I will know them.

I don't think it's a genuine Edwards by the description Mark hence no yoke number.  I took it as being sold as an 03 R with the Edwards body kit fitted.

The 03 bikes had the big valve motor and radial brakes, it just will lack the 57mm bodies of the Edwards I suspect.

Having said that I just saw an Edwards on Af1 and that had no yoke number either, so I'm doubting they had them and it might just be the SP that did.

I thought it was the Haga rep with number on the yoke.

I don't think Edwards had yoke number. I asked Mick to clarify as ad said Edwards 'paint job'. He says genuine one. Last 3chassis digits 149

Just been looking at the pictures.
No number on yoke of Edwards Reps, build number is the extra 3 numbers on the end of frame number.

Its got passenger footrests fitted so not carbon hangers from the subframe fitted (unless they have them but not fitted?), also missing the decals on the rear seat cover.

Yep, I've asked if they have the rear number stickers, they don't.
I've seen some with foot pegs, so that's OK, but they'll need changed for carbon hangers.
They've dropped it to £4095 without any haggling, what do you think it's worth? (its January, and they've had it for 3+ months)

The price is only likely to go up in the spring so if it's the right one make them a sensible offer (maybe late £3's). Ideally needs a pair of eyes to go over it for a closer look given your distance but I would trust Mick was always straight with me.

Decals for tail are easy enough to get or made, Aprilia do sell the tail unit graphics separately.

Looks genuine to me. The yolk as far as I know didn't have the number as others mentioned. rsvrnut has one? He maybe along in a min. According to SP motorcycles they would of sold the numbers with the bike but not everyone wants them fitted so its buyers choice as to put them on or not.

Go as the others say for late £3's and it will be ace!

Once I have the number I was hoping you guys might know the bike and can advise accordingly, might even have belonged to someone on here. Any advice will be welcome before I part with the hard cash.
Anyways, that's about it for now. Anyone else from sunny Scotland?

Cheers

Michael

Hi there,  I have seen a bike that might be worth having a look at  as it is a good bit closer than the one 400 miles away .

Skinners in Dundee have a 2003 Haga rep with 20k on the clock
The pictures seem good  - so it would be worth a look

on the site with price  - and "best offer" so I am sure that there is a deal to be had . As was previously said  good time to buy just now .

P.s -  There are a few of us north of the Border

Hunts Motorcycles, 2000 RSVR, 9k miles £3995. http://www.huntsmotorcycles.co.uk/UsedBikes.htm

I bought mine from Hunts & they were really good to deal with especially from a distance.

Zax,

Thanks for that, hadn't seen that one.
The description reads like a normal RSV R with Haga stickers.

Surely that's pretty much what a Haga Rep was, just a twin ex and numbered top yoke R model?

Not sure, did it not have the same differences as the Edwards?
If that is the only difference, I'll stick with the search for an Edwards.

Pretty sure the Haga rep is a paintjob basically.

Don't think it has the 57 Tb's of the Edwards and possibly not the Radial brakes or powder coating on the frame/swinger etc.

Found this

Aprilia has announced the introduction of  limited edition motorcycles, the RSV  Mille R - Haga Replica.
  • Top Distinction: only 300 units worldwide limited edition with only 60 slated for US delivery ensures top collectors value, and a phenomenal presentation to further stand out from the crowd.
  • Built on the class-leading RSV 1000 Mille R platform.
  • Fairing graphics faithfully duplicated from WSB- Spec RSV 1000 Mille SP Superbike - complete with Haga racing numbers
  • Blue anodized Ergal top triple tree with "Noriyuki Haga" inscribed signature + production identification serial number + inscription "SBK REPLICA RSV 1000 R"
  • Aprilia Engine Department developed dual-sided Akrapovic TITANIUM exhaust and stainless steel collectors+ EPROM specifically designed for this exhaust system
  • Building on the already class-leading performance of the Mille R, the Haga Replica sees a 10 hp increase at 6.500 rpm, and a flatter power curve, over 9.000 rpm with the installation of the competition-grade Akrapovic Exhaust system. Torque is greatly increased with torque curves reaching optimal values 1700 rpm earlier than the standard motor.
  • 6.6 lb weight decrease with the Akrapovic Exhaust system installed (with respect to a standard RSV R) and more equal lateral balance (also thanks to the double and not single exhaust).
  • Top quality components from RSV 1000 R carry-over, including the Carbon body panel inserts and fenders, Brembo 4 pad calipers, Öhlins suspension and steering damper
  • Full rear subframe reduces cost to add optional Bi-Posto kit
  • The 2003 RSV 1000 Mille R Haga Replica: World Superbike technology and imagery, in a single value-packed performance package.

Yeah I'd agree with that. The Edwards has many 'extras' over the base models whereas haga's are a limited paint job and few bling bits. Mind you they are both lovely ! I have an rsv done as a rs3 paint scheme like the Edwards it's quite in your face and certainly not a paint scheme to everyone's taste, subtle they ain't!
