Eve all I'm trying to work out fork bottom out, I have subscribed to Dave Moss' website for access to all his videos and attempting a suspension set up myself along with all his other videos which are great.

Now if I'm right to work this out you need the fork measurement extended minus the fork bottom out number listed in the manual ?? with the zip tie attatched the remainder is marked with a sharpie on the fork to give an indication if your near fork bottom out during riding, phew.......Shocked

if I've got the right number the manual states 127mm for MY mille and 120 mm for a mille Rsvr, when the forks are extended my measurement is 128 mm surely this should be larger for me to work out fork bottom out??

Any info welcome, thank you.

Didn’t really fully get which bit you were unsure about to be honest from your post .  But if you measure and mark total travel from the fully extended fork, that is the approx bottom out point.  There is still a fair bit of fork leg exposed when they bottom, they don’t compress right down to the fork leg bottoms.

For the Ohlins on the RSVR anyway. The Showa forks go more or less all the way down.

What are you trying to do? Post title made me think you were after tweaking your air gap to reduce bottoming under braking. But then the post itself sounds like you're trying to set your static sag.
