Proper handful, not for the faint hearted, sounds fantastic. Quickshifter on it.

Love it!!!

The next video with an s1000 following puts it in perspective properly quick bike. I often have dark thoughts of selling up and going back to a smoker just something about them.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

I can't imagine what it must be like Adam to have that weight and power with sophisticated suspension and brakes.
I raced a TZ350 but had a chance to ride a similar bike to this one to plug chop it when my late friend was injured,
https://goo.gl/images/KvWnSU I believe thats a mark 9 when they were still a square four.
It still remains the most fierce bike I have ever ridden and the most memorable also a beautiful engine to work on. Yes I love two strokes, dry clutch and and off switch for a throttle with narrow powerband, exciting doesn't come close.
This modern take is probably much much safer then them earlier gp bike that virtually crippled most of the riders. When you watch the unrideables video you get a sense how dangerous they were.
Unforgettable experience riding that m9 Rg.

Exciting is an under statement, probably one of my biggest regrets is getting rid of my '87 RG500, one hell of a bike, totally bonkers. My mate had an RD 500 and the amount of interest we used to draw whenever we went somewhere together and parked up was unreal. It makes me want to cry when I think of what I let it go for and what sort of money they command now for a really clean one.

Hi Mark,we all have regrets over selling our bikes mate, I sold my my Bultaco Tss 250 for £650 I paid 240 for it in 76 sold it in 79, a single Clynder two stroke it worth over 20k now. The RGB race bike I had go and also used to work on was nothing like the road bike and this one is a mk8 one year older than the one I had a go on https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23600/lot/394/
They are hard to come by now I saw ex gp going for 180k it was after the square four ones finished. Your old bike is probably worth 10k+ now.I had go as a passenger in a sidecar with a 750 TZ motor in it, it took all the strength I had to hold on. Yeah two stroke era was a great time, we were lucky to have experienced it and a true shame we never kept our bikes. I used to love the hectic way the revs used to rise and die and on the race bike no tickover. Also a push start then and you always wanted to be the last one to cut your engine 😂

Man what a stunning bike I can only imagine what that would be like a bit different to my NSF 125 haha. You are very privileged to of had a go on something as focused as that very little if anything could compare.

Mark you've never mentioned you had one if those before you must tell more next time we get together.

We could all regret selling bikes but very few of us can afford to go out and buy a new machine aswell as keep the old just the way it is.

Hi Ad, yeah was lucky to have been about when two strokes were the norm, I've got a few pics of the Gamma somewhere and a mint little tzr 250 I had as well, could tell you many a tale of my mis-spent youth screaming around the back roads of Norfolk in my younger days, if only I could turn the clock back 30 years or so.

Yes they could get out of shape very quickly, one Little mistake and you was punished severally and spent the rest of the season hobbling around.
And then the seizures temperature and mixture being critical, they say the seizures are a thing of the past with advancement of oils even the dry clutches don't break the plates now.
The Suter is a good example what can be achieved now with the technology available, I wonder where they would be now if they had kept developing them.

Beautiful bit of kit.

Raised on 2 strokes, like many here.

Lc's were my vice for many years, but RG's, KH triples, crossers and all sorts as well back in the day -and I miss those days.

Working at a bike shop when I left school, gave me a choice of bikes we'd consider very desirable now. The discovery of HP left me broke! I PDI'd  the first NS400R in the country. This was back in the days when everything we mended or sold had a good road test. I learned what I liked pretty quickly... and it wasn't CB or GS 750's like my mates.... Left them in my 2 stroke smoke ha ha!

You talking of narrow power bands and the excitement induced, makes my heart beat a bit faster even now Richard! And the noise form some trick spannies!! Boost bottles.... Oh what the youth of today have missed...

Riding that RG500... I don't think anyone here can ever top that, must have been amazing! Big smile

Question everything.

Hi Rick, you never realise how lucky you are sometimes, my friend whom I grew up with from the age of 9 raced that bike and we started racing at the 17 years old, and by his early twenties he had a successful garage and scaffold business but that Rg was expensive and he had to stretch himself bit to afford it. The spares were ridiculous £250 for a throttle because it was magnesium so was the most of the casings. No battery race gen dry clutch.
He was injured in the Iom where he raced five times, so with a cast on his left leg and a crutches, so it was up to me to check it out.
We done all engine rebuilds ourselves, that was my favourite engine to work on.
It was quickest thing I had ever ridden and I got a sense of what top end proper race bikes went like, before Kieron bought it it finished second in the European championship.
Yes a true memory, top riders were more accessible at the time, like going around with Croz at Brands also gave me a beer, a works rider drinking beer on a practice day. And to top it Sheene was their on his Yamaha, yes you are lucky more than you know sometimes. Still remains the best bike I ever rode, road and race bikes included and unless I ride that Suter it will remain that way.
