OK then any first hand experience of disconnecting the exhaust flapper? Word is disconnecting the mechanical cables from the actuator to the valve won't give a fault code & makes throttle response smoother. Anyone?

Purely based on what I have read, pre APRC models respond quite well to having the valve always open but APRC models run noticeably lean without it and get very snatchy. You can get a little box of tricks to fool the ecu if you want to remove the whole lot including servo. I used a healtec one on my Ducati. The servo motors weigh a ton.

Try it and see if you like it. Experiences vary, I disconnected mine with no real problems.

I have mine disconnected and in the bin. Along with the butterfly valve itself.
I do run a variation of the race ecu tho (Gabro RSV4 hybrid reflash) so no fault codes and bike is mapped to suit.
