I agree with both of you, EBC pads ain't all that nowadays, Ferodo, Brembo, SBS and Friction Performance are all better than EBC even Bendix MMR which are cheap but good pads.
But as always it's personal preference, also what rotors, calipers and master you are using.

Just plain vanilla Tuono R as far as hardware goes.

Don't think I'd ever need anything better tbh.

Sorry, should have made it clear, the Tuono is purely my road bike, but having experienced decent brakes on my track bike I couldn't live with the poor excuse that was EBC. When I go for the brakes I want an instant response, not a feeling of acceleration which is what those wooden EBC give.

These won't suit everyone though

Yes,I put those on the back of the Mille before it got relieved of road duties.  Will change for Race Sinter when either bike needs replacing though,I'm totally sold on them

I can only compare like for like on the 4 pad calipers on the mille but these are an order of magnitude better IMHO.

And cheaper I think

Well, did you get to change those pads yet, be interested to hear what difference you find.

Just been out on the bike today Damo, fitted my home modded forks and the new SBS Race Sinter pads.

Jeeeesuuuuuuz, what a difference Shocked   Perhaps even better than the same type pads in my axial 4 pad Mille set up!!!

Caress the lever with 2 fingers and you can feel immediately they are ready to do whatever you want, gently scrub off speed or stand the bike on it's nose, both are available just by squeezing a little harder with said 2 fingers.

No comparison with EBC HH, they feel like greased wooden blocks by comparison, these pads are awesome, you'd have to be a fast group rider and really be on it to need better braking I think.

Nice one, thanks for the feedback.

Well I fitted a set of SBS Street Excel to the rear which replaced the OE Brembo items. They were the original set of pads that came on the bike(!) and were nowhere near worn out but the change was an attempt to get a decent rear brake.

I've had decent pedal for ages and they would grab and release the wheel perfectly well when on the stand (Caliper not sticking at all) but just had no bite once rolling. Did a quick 80 mile run today to bed in the SBS and immediately I have a hugely better rear brake. I can only think that the Brembo pads had either overheated (They didn't look it) from when I didn't have a 'proper' pedal or the age had affected them. Whatever the rear brake is now chalk and cheese from recent times

By the way Ian, SBS do not do a Race version for the rear (Which is why people were having trouble finding them) so you will need to use the Street Excel.
