Ok before I take the plunge and bid on a few bits for my 2000 Mille R project I just wanted to confirm that the later 2002 onwards side fairings with carbon inlays will fit direct onto my 2000 R (no carbon inserts) without modification.

Will i need the little the mesh fairing that run under the seat? Also will I need the bottom cowl or will mine work?

I presume the top fairing all lines up ok or will i also need a facelift front/top fairing (Carbon deflector one)?

I really just want the side fairings in all honesty to bolt directly on if its possible,Some might consider it styling blasphemy but i'm going to end up spraying the bike anyhow so it won't be an "original" bike so to speak anyways.

Mid panels are interchangeable as is the belly. The nose fairing is not however as the headlight and screen are different.

No need to change the under seat panels unless you want to but the newer versions do leave a gap under the earlier tank of an inch or so.

Hmm sounds about perfect for me, As I really prefer the clean/slim lines of the original RSV's than later bikes but do love an Edwards etc Tongue

So keeping it inline with the smaller front fairing and without the carbon deflectors and slimmer tank/neater under seat fairings I think the side fairing will go great on a early bike with carbon infill panels as the don't widen or blow out the bikes lines as the difference is there simply more inverted styling wise if anything. The big carbon infill will also help break up the bike as I've 99% going for one FLAT color over the whole bike with just the blue oz/gold/carbon to break her up :)

So just 2 side fairings it is!

Thanks mate

Will do mate but don't go holding your breath on me Wink

As I'm just waiting until I get the side fairings as cheap as I'm probably going to get the bikes bodywork done by the 2019 Marchish... So I'm lurking about for a pair or 1.. with carbon inlay..without all depends on price :)  And need money for the spray as i want top job deep and glossy :)
