hi guys,
i struggled with this at sneterton earlier this year, i have a full akrapovic system, unbeknown to me at purchase and with the akra end can friend tested it at 106db, i ended up fitting a termi end can that is now 96db. i bought a stock exhaust that couldent fit due to the akra collector, if you need a stock let me know it really is the easiest way to pass track day noise tests.

Yep the noise tester at snetterton is an absolute jobs worth had so many run ins with him over the years which is why I bought a set of stockers. Bonus of that was the last time I took the ape round I got hit at corams and put a little ding in one can. Wasn't bothered as I stayed on just but if that had of been the Tigcraft cans I'd of cried. Now running the little Kwacka and he even tried to stop me going out on that even though its an ex MSV racebike and has to comply with their strict rules. Guys a bloody idiot. Stock is the way to go on the big twins these days unless you do Euro days.

Mhp are very good at building cans to pass noise tests.

Yeah should pass Cadwell easily. Though the 'official verdict' can vary from track to track I've heard.

Last time I was tested was at Cadwell and had a later Evo can with a modded collector and that was waved through to my amazement. Noise regs are crazy when you think several of the big name sports bikes can't get on track using the standard road exhaust as supplied Given a bit of encouragement I can see rules being brought in that would make any exhaust mods illegal,I know it was mooted years back and dismissed but I fear it would get more support now if it was tried again. |
