Hi all,I hope you're all out enjoying the amazing Easter weather. We've just come back from a walk along the prom and there are loads of bikes parked up and many more howling down the A55. It must be very uncomfortable wearing leathers today, but on the plus side the amount of scantily clad womanhood on display around the beach area and park is definitely a bonus On days like this N Wales is a VERY good place to be |

You lucky bugger, I've been stuck at work 7-7 for the last three days, typical, when I'm off the weather's usually rubbish, hopefully it'll still be nice tomorrow when I'm off and the bike can come out.

Well it's overdue. Usually on bank holidays we have rain or wind,or both. The cafes and kiosks on the beach must be raking the money in for the third day running, almost unheard of. The forecast is for more of the same until mid week so hopefully you'll get out and have some fun

Took a ride out to the Haynes motor museum in Somerset with my bro and Garin. Lots of bikes parked up there although didn’t see many on the road considering the weather. Treated myself to a full English as well

Bike not back yet so had to get out in car. Was bedlam here yesterday as the road was closed on way to aberdyfi due to accident involving 2 cars. So I gave the coast a miss and headed inland for a bit. Bloody traffic Sunday too so sat in watching bsb lol. Ian, if the coast up there is anything like Aberystwyth when sun comes out its murder on the eyes lol

I've stayed clear of the roads over the holiday weekend. Too many idiots on the road (Cars and bikes). Had a great run out on Friday though. Went up to Hartside, no cafe since it burnt down but dropped over the other side the Melmerby to the Old Village Bakery for eats then back through Alston and home via Stanhope and up over the moors. |

I agree about the traffic but that's the price we pay for living somewhere that's nice I guess. I have an unwritten rule that I never take a bike out on a bank holiday due to tourists who don't know where they're going / prone to turning right without warning HERE! / admiring the splendid scenery or sometimes all of the above. For a similar reason I very seldom go out on a Sunday either as in the riding season we get flooded with TT wannabe's who's main idea seems to be use the roads as a closed track and impress their mates. It's no wonder Plod has frequent crackdowns as some of the riding makes me want to stop drivers and apologise of behalf of riders with more control. And yes Cwp,the sights along the beach a very distracting Although I live close enough to the water to admire the waves breaking it's unfortunately just a bit too far to admire the other sights in any detail from my windows. Fortunately being retired I can go out whenever I feel like it during the week, and at that time I think Plod and the scamera van's concentrate on the main roads and leave the nice riding roads until the next w/end as they know they'll have more trade than they can handle then. Plus doing things that way I think they can justify doing something when the next idiot rider kills himself and prompts outrage in the local papers. Having said all that though just as the holiday w/end winds down the weather is starting to change right here on the coast just as the traffic patterns reverse and the exodus out begins. |

bet you got some binoculars handy by the Windows Ian lol. Yes, the weekend racers out to impress lol. I cringe sometimes when I see a group of 4+ coming up behind .I just let them by because I've seen some crazy overtaking when they're trying to catch up with the one in front. We've all done it but on some of the roads around here it leaves very little room for errors. Not judging or preaching, each to their own like. However when you're the only one on the road and you cant figure out why until a car comes towards you with hazards on and flagging you down and a few bends later you come across one of dyfed powys' finest stood over a gixxer with the front end missing and a car with front end damaged it does put a downer on a great relaxing ride out. And plod gives you look. Having said all that I can't wait to get back out on bike even tho I might have to get new leathers lol.
One thing I've noticed even more this year is how indicators seem to be optional extras on cars... |

I've noticed that as well, probably either Star Wars fans using 'The Force' or taught at the Doris Stokes School of motoring Just annoying when you follow in a car,but damn dangerous if you're overtaking on a bike |

had to laugh on Saturday . I'd taken mam out for a spin in car. We're in a 50 zone and I'm doing just under and a car overtakes but not a quick one he's creeping past at just over 50 lol. Took him ages to pass. Then he got stuck behind the car in front . I can't figure why they've done that part a 50 instead of 60 just hoping it's not the way other roads are going to go. No need for it

Probably saves them keeping the road surface up to standard, easier to just lower the limit We have a bridge at the end of the road that crosses over the main coastal rail line and BR complained about rusty bits falling off the bridge onto trains going underneath! That seems fair enough, but unfortunately the railway and the council can't agree who's responsibility the road/bridge is and both say they haven't got any money to fix it. So what's the outcome you say? Due to neither stepping up the outcome was to reduce the road width to single lane with steel crash barriers and install traffic lights on both sides!!!! I'm supposing they just hope that one vehicle at a time instead of potentially two will stop rusty pieces falling on their trains Only in GB Well perhaps Albania may be as bad but I doubt places like Germany,Austria etc would be,and their trains are clean, cheap and run reliably within a couple of minutes ,unlike ours
