Hi guys! Thanks for your time in advance, hope everyone has had an awesome weekend!

I'm fitting some AP rearsets on a gen 1, the rod coming off the master cylinder is a bit long, can you buy shorter ones or can I just cut this one down?

Thanks again.

I found this also , so after a few attempts I think I reduced the original by 6mm, but canā€™t remember exactly, putting the curved profile back on that fits into m/cyl, be careful as if reduced too much it might drop out as no return spring . This allowed me to get peddle position right for my 10/2 feet

You get a new rod with the AP rearsets don't you, does this not replace the one form the original master? I didn't fit the original master though as I used one from an RSV4 with integral fluid reservoir so my installation was different.

They do fit but I like mine to slope downwards quite a bit and more than the adjusting thread allowed , so out came the file. The gearchange side has enough adjustment . Yes this is the new rod that comes with em .

Sorry for the late reply guys! Thanks for all your input too... no such thing as a stupid question eh?!
Spike to the man himself at AP as well... the new rearsets do come with a custom MC rod, however I'm going to be cutting this one down... watch this space!

Not easy to get a picture as it so hidden. Basically the metal bracket (arrowed in pic) bolts onto the nut at the back of the rearset bolt (circled). The bottom end attaches to the normal fairing location.
