Got the old mille 1 booked in at AP workshops on Thursday for a little tune up on the gas analyser.
Looking forward to riding it when they have finished with it.

I'm fancying some of the quick release tank anchors that redrat has advertised on there.

They look sweet and very efficient.
I'll have to tap the hole and bang a timesert in 1st then they won't strip again with the little mod.

They are handy on the seat too for those fuse or flat battery moments.

When I had my accident in France last year Ian I got several bed baths and an assisted shower from some very nice french nurses.
I totally get where you’re at with that.

Well unfortunately the sexy little Philipino? nurse said she was busy so I was left to get on with it on my own. Only to realise once I switched off the water and moved the curtain that I'd flooded the floor.  And from the sudden screams also the reception area beyond. Still don't know how I managed it Confused
Feeling much better now the surgery is over, a triple bypass it was in the end, got my right leg cut from ankle to groin though which is a bit uncomfortable atm.
The worse thing is my stomach keeps bloating though and tablets are making it worse. Now there is talk of putting plastic tube down my nose into my stomach to 'equalise or relieve the pressure'

My body is more trouble than an aprilia atm

Jesus Ian, that's a big op, my Uncle had a triple last year. Take it steady with the recovery, one step at a time as they say. Philipino nurses are definitely off limits  LOL

Pity, she's a little dynamoWink   Seem to be getting my body back gradually but  it will be a long time before I can ride again I expect, if ever possibly. Don't know how the dvla and insurance company will react as I'm 67 now.
And this came as a surprise to me as well, only got the first warnings this time last year so be careful peeps and watch the signs.

Yes Ian, as I told you,  take easy steps and listen to the advice and you will be fine, i had my bypass about this time last year, i was just about ready to ride november time but the weather was sh1t, BUT i have just booked a track day at brands next wednesday and I am 69  (you young wippersnapper) you just have to wait for your chest bone to join back together properly! you WILL know when.
I did have an offer of a phillipino nurse offer a shower BUT as HE was about 20 stone!!!! I did it myself

Sounds like the wisest move Paul, movement when I drop the shower gell is still a bit limited LOL
I'd like to do track again but I'm wondering if perhaps the old Mille will be a bit of a handful weight and mass wise. Shame really as I'd always said that bike's a keeper, I could care less about the gen2 Tuono. Possibly swap up from the T to something like a gixxer 750?
Loads of guys from here have gone that route and they all say the same thing, same speed, much less weight and mass and so much more time and effort released to devote to riding faster.

At least these seem to be common impressions so there must be some basis in fact.
Perhaps sometime next year we can organise an oldies track day Shocked
Zimmer frames round Trac Mon LOL
I did fancy doing one of Mr Witham's w/ends at Anglesey with Mr Miller so we'll see. These are expensive but tiny groups and top instructors.
First Aid facilities are good as well,  aren't they Rod?  WinkLOL

Thanks Colin, yes the bed baths are quite an experience aren't they? Huddled to a bosom while the other washes your back has it's high points, unfortunately the catheter stopped any normal responses Confused    In fact everything else seems to be working fine so it would be reassuring to check out Percy's further functions before leaving here.

If this track day goes ok then i would be up for and oldies track day!
Remember try not to sneeze, cough, or laugh (it will hurt) the hard part when you get out, is lifting a kettle as you have to do it at arms length keep the weight you are lifting close to your body, I could lift weight (shopping bags) straight arms, I got all my bikes out of the back of the garage yesterday track bike (R6) had a lithium battery charged for about 30mins started first time (probably not run for 18 months) I had forgotten how heavy my Honda SP1 is,  last run to le-mans motoGP 2018 normal battery charged all day, managed to turn one cycle no chance of any more looks like another lithium will be needed.   Enjoy the rest Paul

Thanks for the thoughts Guys EmbarrassedClap

I've managed to escape the mayhem and find a quiet family room at the outer corner of the ward complex. How someone can switch a bloody TV on around 07:00 and have it spouting drivel until lights out is beyond me.

I'm just not cut out to be socially interactive I guess. Although I thought my self control might slip at one point early this morning.

It brings it home how some poor people are so f#kced in the head that they must need the constant drone in the background telling them how they should react to each and every stimulus.

I feel like smashing the tv and trying to explain what living actually entails.
Can't see many wanting the rush or responsibility of riding a bike or flying or doing anything that needs actual input and creative thought

Sorry for the rant, but when you see this openly displayed it's a real eye opener. Shocked

Cheers Cwp Thumbs Up, it was all a massive rush in the end. I got a call first thing Fri asking if I could come in Wed for the op on Thurs. Then I ran into the travel issue, I had to ask a mate to take me in and because he wasn't isolatated family I had to go in at least 72 hrs earlier for intensive Covid screening.

This meant I got in by 08:30 sun so just over a week for a triple bypass and out, quite proud of that really.

By the way those shots you see of people in car parks getting tested are worse than useless for covid. For mrsa they're fine. The covid swabs are twice as long and pretty uncomfortable at best, bloody painful at worst. You get 3 off them, one throat, 2 nasal

The real deal covid swab can only be done under general anaesthetist unless your name is Linda Lovelace
