[QUOTE=Fugly]Hi all,
A bit of an update.
Took the old girl up to Griff last Friday, who confirmed it had a spark and the plugs were wet so was confused and donned his deer stalker and got the magnifying glass out.....
Transpires that I hadn't connected the ground connection back to the battery for the quickshifter.  Once reconnected the bastid barked straight into life.
I have never been happier to have been a dick! LOL
However,once I got it home I tried to start it, would it start, would it  mein arsch.
So have ordered a booster pack to ensure I have maximum cranking current and give it the best chance, other than that we 'll see.
Will keep you posted.

Do you have a dyno jet pc111 and quickshifter or is it another make?

It has a PC V and QS quick shifter, Griff commented that the lack of ground on the QS might have retarded the ignition enough to stop it firing despite have a spark and fuel.

But yes she does run and was great to listen to her growling away again, I now have a booster pack and will chuck some fresh fuel in her and hopefully we will all be good.

When Griff fired it up it was sucking some damp start fumes so am thinking the fuel might not be good as it's now a few months old so will chuck some fresh 98 Ron in and see how we go with some backup power behind it.

That Guzzi...make sure you check whether it has chromed bores. If it does, bin them. The chrome flakes off and will ruin every bearing in the engine. If you need any info on your rebuild, drop me a line, hopefully I can help, Ive recently done a ground up refurb on my Le Mans. The best forum for Guzzis is Wild Guzzi; full of mostly old bastids like me, but there is nothing Guzzi they dont know.
People say I don't know Jack Sh1t; but I do, he lives next door.

Wooo Hooooo she lives, she bloody well lives!

After the deflation of getting it home from Griff's and it not starting I ordered a booster jump pack and gave it a go, still no fire despite furious cranking.

I remember Griff gave it a sniff of damp start when he fired it up so I did the same and boooooooooom, daka,daka,growl, growl.  Fuel in the tank has probably gone off enough to stop it firing but once running and got some heat in the cylinders and she purred like a kitten.

So the battery is on the optimate and I will pick 10 litres of fresh 98 ron, a fresh pair of tyres and it's MoT time LOL
